Sold some records to Stewart Lee yesterday! He joins Sophie Ellis Bextor, Mark Lanegan (RIP) and Tim Burgess in the celebrity customers club. Non-celebrities are also more than welcome...

Starting to think there is a link between flare-ups in the plantar fasciitis in my left foot and the stack loads of vinyl I carry whenever I go record shopping

This bloomin’ brilliant 7” single has just arrived in the post. But I’m baffled as I didn’t order it! There’s also no note inside and no return address on the packaging 🤷‍♂️

This 6 record bundle description on ebay is confusing me "The records are in the record format and made of vinyl material. The artists featured on these records are diverse. The release title of the records is varied. It is a great opportunity to acquire a selection of vinyl records in one purchase"

This has to be the friendliest sounding town in England. “Chaw-leaah” or “Char-laaay”, either way it sounds so bubbly and almost cuddly. It even has 2 record shops

Last night in Liverpool. Michael Head & The Red Elastic Band conquered The Philharmonic. It was a beautiful 2 1/2 hours spent in the company of a genius.

Got this rare 12” by everyone’s favourite anti-vaxxer Aphex Twin. Unfortunately it has been scribbled on but maybe “259 A” was written by the man himself and means something? I would smash it up but moneys tight and all that.

Test playing this. Shocking as it is, I’ve never heard it before. My ears enjoy a wide variety of music but erm…am I missing something?! It should be noted I don’t like the sound of cutlery scratching against one another.

Blimey, it's 5 years since the football shirts exhibition "Strip" that I curated, opened in Manchester. It was my career high working in museums. I got to work with some amazing people inc. kit designers, collectors & clubs. We even created our own eco-friendly shirt with @stanchow.bsky.social /1 🧵

First festive item sold this year. Someone has just got in very, very early and bought the finest Christmas album ever recorded.

One of the perks of selling vinyl is removing old things from old records, the main one being original price stickers. The second offender is normally vintage curly pubic hairs. The worst though I've encountered (so far) is a yellow-tinged crusty toe nail from the underbelly of a '79 Ian Dury single

Selling records can be such a lucrative business sometimes. This Debbie Gibson album cost £6.49 35 years ago. It’s unplayed, in original cellophane and even comes with the insert. 2024 price…yep, £6.49.

Finally took the time to do a very detailed business plan. Records keep appearing and multiplying and by strange coincidence my finances have taken a beating. The plan suggests success so I shall keep buying, it really is the only option
Business plan- ridiculous model of buying more records than I sell leaving me with very little money

My work is hardly a graft but it does involve a lot of getting up and down to find records, clean and play them, list them and pack the ones sold. My 10 year old cocker spaniel, Chester, doesn’t really understand this. His line of work is to sit on me and try to prevent me from reaching the laptop

Just back from Radio 2 in the Park in Preston. There was 10 minutes where it didn't bin it down. Mud up to my ankles, I've just started to feel my feet again. By the end the whole field was like a brown lake. Pet Shop Boys, Manics and Paul Heaton were all spot on though.

Hello my old friend. I love these stickers as they are absolutely massive and can never be removed as the glue is also used in the building trade as a more effective alternative to mortar. A collectors dream…

Can tell there is an Oasis revival. Yesterday I sold a copy of Definitely Maybe on CD for 70p.

So much for the glorious "vinyl revival", in an extremely painful slow sales week, I've actually sold more CDs than records in the last couple of days.

Probably my favourite Oasis song, a real deep cut. I still can't believe it only got to number 27 in the charts www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8ts...

I loved Oasis when I was a teen, they were one of a few bands that ignited my interest in music. Although I bought all their albums I lost interest in the early 00s. I still think they made some brilliant songs and an outstanding album but I'll be dodging these new shows. It won't bring back youth!

First feelings about here compared to X are that I'm essentially still talking to myself. But instead of talking to myself in a hate-filled, Brexit dripped, grotty Wetherspoons sipping stale beer I'm talking to myself in a lovely community pub that sells nice ales and cloudy IPA's. That's an upgrade
