Happy Birthday, LvB! 🎉 Cranking up Beethoven's one-and-only oratorio 'Christus am Ölberge' under the baton of Eugene Ormandy. The clarity of this recording is so good, you can hear every word, particularly of the choir, which, however, lacks some energy towards the dramatic finale … #nowspinning
An old vinyl record titled "LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN CHRISTUS AM ÖLBERGE op. 85" conducted by Eugene Ormandy is displayed. The other artists listed on the record cover are Judith Raskin, Soprano; Richard Lewis, Tenor; Herbert Beattie, Bass; Temple University Choir; and Philadelphia Orchestra. The cover features a photo of the conductor in mid-performance.

Just got 'Signed' Toscanini Beethoven records for 20! They supposedly belonged to the widow of A.T.s chauffeur. She gifted them to a retired couple which runs a basement vinyl shop. However: the records were officially released a year Post-Toscanini, and the signature isn’t typically Toscanini 🤷‍♂️
The image is of an RCA Victor record cover titled "Arturo Toscanini Nine Beethoven Symphonies" performed by the NBC Symphony Orchestra. It features a black and white photo of Arturo Toscanini, resting his head thoughtfully on his hand. There's a yellow banner at the top with the title and RCA Victor branding, and a price sticker indicating "20,- mit Original- Unterschrift!" indicating an original signature.

Spun Haydn's 'Creation' in an early rendition with period instruments played by Collegium Aureum alongside Peter Schreier and Walter Berry. Berry's verdict on the whole period instruments-fuss? "Naja, ma soll's auch haben"—a charming Viennese way of saying "Well, it takes all sorts …" #nowspinning
A vinyl record cover with a depiction of Joseph Haydn's 'The Creation' performed by Arnold Schoenberg Choir and Collegium Aureum, directed by Gustav Kuhn. The cover features a classical painting of a crowded concert hall. The text on the cover is trilingual, also including 'Die Schöpfung' and 'La Création'. Soloists listed are Arleen Augér, Gabriele Sima, Peter Schreier, Walter Berry, and Roland Hermann.

Spinning a symphony in sunshine yellow that's giving Deutsche Grammophon vibes, but with a twist. Hans Rosbaud's conducting Bruckner’s 7th on this no-name label has a clarity that could make the big DG green with envy. #Vinyl #ClassicalMusic #nowspinning youtu.be/r-rmYPtS5pc?...
A photo of a vinyl record cover featuring Symphony No. 7 E-Major by Anton Bruckner. The cover is bright yellow with a white circle in the middle containing Bruckner's signature. Below it, the text reads 'Sinfonie Nr. 7 E-Dur (Originalfassung)' followed by 'Südwestfunk-Sinfonieorchester' and 'Dirigent Hans Rosbaud.' The phrase 'Weihet mit Musik Hohe Lebensstunden' repeats around the cover's edge.

Just dropped the needle on some vintage Bach. Time hasn't scratched the concertos, but it sure gave this record some character! And get this: young Rudolf Serkin on piano, accompanying his father-in-law on violin. #vinyl #nowspinning #classicalmusic
