When vinylizing an album split across multiple discs, you can now import it as a box set. Your digital music experience just got even closer to the physical world. 😍

You can configure each record in a set with its own title, artwork, and center labels. Discogs integration is available as usual. Open the record switcher (a new button when playing box sets) and select the record you want to play.

It's here! The first in my Indie Apps Showcase series features a handful of faves from the comment section of my callout post last week. Thanks to everyone who submitted an app – those I missed this time might turn up in the next one.

Hi! Unfortunately Spotify has become increasingly restrictive for third party apps, especially small players. It was in my plans but it requires a lot of effort that I can't justify given the unfriendly panorama. Sorry! 😞

Also, Apple Music catalog search now lists matching artists and not just albums. Select an artist and drill down to their albums.

Vinyl Fetish 11.2 is out! 🚀 Some vinyl records have specially named sides or side-wide titles that group the songs. Digital music lost that feature — but we're bringing it back 💪 Side titles can be edited manually or imported from Discogs.

Vinyl Fetish 10.14 is out! 🚀 Importing side arrangement from Discogs is complemented with manual selection of tracks that couldn't be matched automatically. This helps make the virtual record just like the real one. #AppleMusic #iPhone #iPad #VinylRecords apps.apple.com/app/id149071...

I have a fix and will be released soon as version 10.14. I reviewed the implementation and it sends scrobbles in batches every 10 minutes, but the "now playing" one goes out live as long as the app is in the foreground. Once you get the bugfix that is 😅

000

Vinyl Fetish App @vinylfetishapp.bsky.social · 10/05/2025

Gotcha, there's a bug! Working on it. Thanks

100

Vinyl Fetish App @vinylfetishapp.bsky.social · 10/05/2025

Oh and regarding the other question in your email: yes, the quality is the same as with the Music app, it will also display Lossless, Hi-Res Lossless and Dolby Atmos logos in a corner when appropriate.

000

Vinyl Fetish App @vinylfetishapp.bsky.social · 10/05/2025

BTW the app has its own "wrapped" feature for which it started gathering data this year.

000

Vinyl Fetish App @vinylfetishapp.bsky.social · 10/05/2025

Have the scrobbles showed up yet? As per lastfm specs, scrobbles must not be sent right away on playback start. The app has a 30 seconds delay but it seems they have changed the specs to wait for 50% of track playback.

000

Vinyl Fetish App @vinylfetishapp.bsky.social · 10/05/2025

I'm not seeing that issue so not sure what could be causing it! I will see if I can find a possible cause. Let me know if you can get it to work by restarting the app from scratch or something. Thanks for reporting.

2) The wobble effect simulates a record that is not entirely flat by making the light reflection swing a little back and forth, if you set it to high it should be more noticeable.

000

Vinyl Fetish App @vinylfetishapp.bsky.social · 10/05/2025

Hi! 1) I don't think they do because they don't show as recently played. I wonder why Apple does that. The app uses its separate player but still plays Apple Music content.

Vinyl Fetish App @vinylfetishapp.bsky.social · 12/04/2025

Hi Eliah! on the latest version (10.13) incoming calls should just pause playback when you get a call.

Hi Eliah! Thanks, this is a known issue. You might notice that as the side progresses the position of the headshell looks more and more correct. The start of the side is where it's off the most. It's a a trigonometry problem that I wasn't yet able to solve properly!
