Lin and I went to an owl sanctuary in Bathgate yesterday. It was sad and joyous in turns. Sad because of the impact we are having on their environment, and joyous because these #owls have a great home and a second chance.

On Friday, Lin and I took a drive up to Killin, then onto Bridge of Balgie and the Glen Lyon Valley. As always, the scenery was fantastic and I found two dams (Lubreoch Dam and Stronuich Reservoir) to add to my list! We’re grateful that all of this exists a mere couple of hours away from us.

It remains incredibly warm for this time of year - humid too. Each day, I look out the kitchen window with the hope that #autumn will truly land. As it stands, there are hints of yellow here and there, but the foliage remains stubbornly green.

I also think people opened accounts here, planning to escape the other place, but ended up gravitating back to it because they didn’t want to lose the numbers they had built up (and other reasons). What I’m saying is, the lights are on at BlueSky, but I don’t think many people are at home.

I’ve never really been in it for the the likes, but I 100% hear what your saying. I give very little effort to BlueSky now because, even with +2500 “followers”, it’s clear that I’m playing to an audience of circa 6 to 12. It’s not worth the effort.

I’m with you, Andy. It will pass - we both know that, but that knowledge somehow never manages to override *that* feeling. I remember my uncle John (God rest his soul) telling me that it took circa two years after his retirement for that feeling to finally fade.

Etched in my mind. One of those films I saw when I was a small boy sneakily watching things that I shouldn’t have been. Some of the scenes from this film terrified me, and, each time I see it, it is with such nostalgia for a certain time, place, smell, and sound.

I do remember ‘Take Hart’ but was perhaps too young to fully take it in. It’s successor, ‘Hart Beat’, was one of my very favourite television shows - beginning to end.
