this got flagged as NSFW on tumblr. which is homophobic

adam 🐧 @vinstdriven.bsky.social · 11/01/2026

i’m trying to not be parasocial about it but i can’t help but have a genuine concern for what a rise to stardom like this has the potential to do to their mental health

a fear i have is hudson and connor ending up resentful of the show bc a lot of us and journalists and paps and media people don’t understand or respect boundaries

There are gay players in the league and culturally it is unsafe and detrimental to their careers to come out. This isn’t about an oversight of community inclusion but widespread workplace discrimination that is normalized and encouraged from Bettman himself, and filters downward. He is a dinosaur.

I don’t like just calling them cowards actually, and writing it off as just fear, it’s intentional & systematic. They’re constantly moving the goal posts back. While I wish the response was stronger, I’m grateful to the players and actors on traditional and social media who are pushing back

If they actually want new hockey fans from all directions and care about “You Can Play” as much as they barely pretend they do they should be all over this shit. Fucking cowards

A simple drawing of Ilya Rozanov & Shane Hollander from Heated Rivalry, in their hockey team uniforms sans their helmets.
