"are you watching, god?" thorkell x canute. explicit. mind the tags! Rareship Solstice Event. Day 2. Prompts: Feast. Alcohol. link: archiveofourown.org/collections/... #vinsagasolstice #tsundoku-fics

He used to kneel in prayer, before Ragnar’s death. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. The words used to soothe him—made him feel safe and protected. Cherished. Loved. They were empty now. He repeated them in his head as he knelt before Thorkell, hands folded in his lap. They didn’t make him feel loved anymore—they were a mockery. A taunt. A lie.

Are you watching, God? Are you watching me debase myself in the pursuit of power? A power strong enough to reject you forever—to never need you again?

Do you still love all your children? Even the ones who have forsaken you?

Even me?

As always, there were no answers.

While Mercia burns, the vikings feast.

Rareship Solstice Event 2025. Prompts: Feast. Alcohol.

We are less than 8 weeks away from the rare ship event and therefore it is time to introduce the tag we will use for this event: #VinsagaSolstice If you want your work to be retweeted to the event’s account, use this hashtag! 🌻☀️🌾

As part of our preparations, it is important to mention at the outset what we consider a rare ship. We consider a rare ship to be one that 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 on various platforms. We, however, allow polyships. #Vinsagasolstice
