I can't say I'm all too broken up about the Discord age verification thing. While I use it regularly, I also recognize the platform has a huge problem with grooming and accountability, especially when it comes to certain fandoms. Truth is, the userbase brought this one on itself.

Remember, kids: any time someone suggests using a recursive acronym to name something, drive your fist through the bastard's skull until he can use his own teeth as a goddamn headrest. Yeah, I'm looking at you, open-source community.

I can't believe I GAINED subscribers in that little skirmish. I appreciate that; you certainly weren't seeing me at my best. Sadly, decades on forums butting heads against "gamer"-types means I get baited easily by inflammatory rhetoric. Hi. I'm the 2012-era left-wing, still wearing the old colors.

@techconnectify.bsky.social Have you seen this? Great complement to your own hybrid video. He actually built a working plastic model of the eCVT to more directly demonstrate what you had to abstract via the whiteboard. Very engaging demonstration of all its capabilities.

"Abstract", you say? Well sure, there's the issue of mutating into a glitched monstrosity with an irrevocably shattered mind, but that Mult bonus is nothing to sneeze at. #TADC #Balatro

A depiction of the Abstract Joker card from Balatro, modified to contain a screencap from The Amazing Digital Circus's eighth episode where Pomni is cartoonishly stomped into a smear on the floor. The text for the Joker's description remains accurate to the actual card:

Abstract Joker
+3 Mult for each Joker card
(Currently +18 Mult)
Common [rarity]

The template used comes from itch.io user Switzerville, with use of user Managore's "m6x11" typeface which is also used in the actual game.

@techconnectify.bsky.social Was skimming over your latest video again and didn't notice you bringing it up, so what's your opinion on nuclear? Particularly when used in conjunction with other green energy such as solar, wind, and geothermal. Been seeing a lot of folks saying we shouldn't ignore it.

I'm as wary of the ramifications of AI and its subsequent "slop" as anyone, but I must confess: goofing around with image generators is a guilty pleasure of mine. Such as blurting dumb phrases like "THE RAGE WAFER" into Gemini, having no idea what'll come out. But sometimes, I'm genuinely surprised.

This is the kind of thing I end up creating when in a sick, sleep-deprived haze. List every single 3x3 permutation of black and white cells, then cull redundancy via transforms and color-code symmetry. More info in alt text. Still sick, by the way... [ It's a picture, but I wouldn't call it #art. ]

An array of 102 blocks, each containing a 3x3 grid pattern of either dark or light cells. Only 102 of 512 (i.e. 2^9) possible grid permutations are depicted, as the other 410 are rendered redundant in 3D space via flipping and/or rotating (in 90° increments) one of the blocks shown here in order to produce an identical pattern. The blocks are ordered via filling in the cells in reading order, skipping over any permutations rendered redundant by a prior block.

The blocks are color-coded based on symmetry:
Black is completely asymmetrical. Any act of rotating or flipping will produce a completely new pattern, for a total of eight.
Red and blue have reflectional symmetry across one axis, either a diagonal axis for red or an orthogonal axis for blue. Each is capable of four unique patterns.
Yellow and cyan have reflectional symmetry across two perpendicular axes, diagonal for yellow and orthogonal for cyan. This also inherently results in them being rotationally symmetrical by 180° turns. This leaves merely two unique patterns for each.
Green is rotationally symmetrical by 180° turns, but is not reflectionally symmetrical across any axis. This leads to four unique patterns.
Purple is reflectionally symmetrical across every diagonal and orthogonal axis, also granting rotational symmetry not only by 180° but even 90° turns. As a result, it only has one possible pattern; no matter how it is flipped or rotated, it will always appear the same.

Did a text-narrated YouTube stream playthrough of Deltarune Ch. 4 to avoid filling any more of my drive space with game captures. Third segment alone got randomly flagged by the algorithm—with its high-res now held hostage—because of some vague "3rd party content violation". The DMCA at work, folks.

@tantacrul.bsky.social It's crazy how FOSS's notorious dearth of documentation affects even popular software. Trying to learn OBS; no included help file, the help portal is grossly incomplete, and the "documentation" site is just an API reference. How am I meant to RTFM if there's no manual to read?

@chubigans.bsky.social The Ac!dbomb duology are old indie favorites of mine. Just replayed them on a whim, which led to an absurd string of revelations: "Wait, Cook, Serve, Delicious! was by the Ore no Ryomi guy? Wait, Ore no Ryomi was by the Ac!dbomb guy?! Wait, GREENTECH was by the Ac!dbomb guy?!"

Okay, anime showrunners can't NOT know what they're doing at this point. This goes beyond "Japanese speakers think Latin letters are cool" into straight-up taking the piss.

@techconnectify.bsky.social You're big into EVs, so I'm sure you've seen the ongoing discourse regarding their place alongside public transportation, as well as issues like range anxiety, which is of particular concern here in the States. Have you ever heard of motorail, and what do you think of it?
