St. Finbarr kicked a water serpent from the lake, clearing it for his monastery. The beast fled, carving the River Lee as it went, before dying near Cork, where it’s said to be buried. Finbarr followed its path, and founded the city at the river’s end. #Photography #History #Ireland #EastCoastKin
