And with that #Swordtember ends. I got through 21/30 prompts and feel good with the pieces I made. Having no pressure to create, just letting myself be creative, really undid some old scars around art making. Thank you to everyone who participated. Found new art peers and was inspired by y'all.💖

And with that, #Swordtember is complete! I came up with this whole band/music artist thing last minute, so I'm glade that it worked out so well. I revisited so much music that's shaped me in one way or another. The ones I jam to, the ones that make me laugh, the ones that make me cry.

#Swordtember Day 30: Mitski. Saving my favorite for last, even though I struggled all month to figure out what I wanted to do for it. Went sort of with a dancer's blade with a pearlescent blade. Something Elegant and ethereal, yet bold and powerful. #Mitski

#Swordtember day 29: Lee Emi! I'm stoke for Destroy Everything coming out this Friday, all the songs she's released so far have been so good! Wanted to capture some of the vibes from her new music videos with some of the folksy vibes her music has. #Destroyeverything

#Swordtember Day 28: Flight of the Conchords! The camera sword, that ruined the camera, and also the sword. I used to watch this show with my dad in middle school, and I'm pretty sure I got a lot of my sense of humor from it. I always get a good laugh when I go back to listen to their songs.

#swordtember Day 27: McBaise! I think I stumbled upon his music by getting suggested one of his music vids on youtube. Such great grooves and an amazing art style for his animations, I definitely leaned into it for this one. #Mcbaise

Happy birthday! I hope you have a great one today! Here are some art of my own characters, all done traditionally by hand on paper.

A watercolor painting of Niji playing basketball!

A mixed media drawing of Akshara holding a jar and asking Chanda and Root to come with her to get water.

A mixed media drawing of Chanda, Akshara and Root performing on a theatre! Two of them are having fun, one of them seemingly not so much.

#swordtember Day 25: The Pillows! Ever since hearing the outro theme from FLCL, I've been hooked on them. I just love the energy and vibe from their work! #ThePillows

#swordtember Day 14: Homestuck! I can't deny my Homestuck past and how much of the music I listened to from it. That was one of the best parts I think was all the music people made, makes me wonder what some of them are doing now. Except for Toby Fox, I know what he's doing. #Homestuck

#swordtember Day 23: Ginger Root! I wanted to do something small and stylish mostly, while also putting the sound wave design on the blade itself. Ginger Root has such nice chill jams, even working this one out it was pretty relaxing listening to his music. #GingerRoot

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

#swordtember Day 22: Rush! I got really into Rush back in college after my coworker got me into them. Went heavily into the Clockwork Angel themes for this one obviously. I'm gonna have to go back and have another Rush listening day they have a lot of bangers. #Rush

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

#swordtember day 21: Nekrogoblikon! Their songs and music vids are such a great combination of fucking weird, metal, and goblin. The image of the goblin bowling lives forever rent free in my head from the "Bones" music video. #nekrogoblikon

#swordtember Day 20: The Lonely Island! Whenever I go back and listen to them there's always a song or two that I've forgotten about and gives me a good laugh. Also have good memories of visiting my friend and playing GW2 together and listening to them #thelonelyisland

#swordtember day 19: BIG MUD (Doseone)! My most niche pick for sure, but all the BIG MUD tracks just make me lock in while drawing. Both Sludge Life games are great and definitely worth playing, they have such a unique style to them and great music. #BIGMUD #sludgelife

#swordtember day 18: Dethklok (metalocalypse)! Heavily influenced by the Dethphone. Such a great show with awesome music, I'm so glad they got to finish their story with Army of the Doomstar. #dethklok

#swordtember day 17: The Primals! Was aiming to make it based off their logo with Ifrit mostly. Also was tempted to just do Soken but was having problems coming up with a laheee blade. #theprimals #ffxiv

Another #swordtember -er who's blades just ooze style!

#swordtember day 16: Florence + the Machine! Just went with pure vibes and maybe a bit of her album artwork imagery to make this one. She's definitely on my want to see list, she does such amazing things with her voice #florence+themachine

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

#swordtember day 15: Penelope Scott! This was initially a tough one, trying to pin down her vibes, but it was great to go through all her music again to get ideas. Especially her newest album, I had only listened to it once before so it was fun to really deep listen into it #penelopescott

#swordtember day 14: ratbag! Boy do I love her work. Her music is so unique where it's like poppy but rocky and grungy, and then her visual work with her videos and art is amazing as well. I tried to go for her kind of look she does for this one. #ratbag

#swordtember day 13: Sleigh Bells! I saw them live last year and it was a small venue and I was like 10-15 feet from the stage probably, it was amazing. The energy for their songs is so good and just pumps you up #sleighbells

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

#swordtember day 12: Chappell Roan! I don't go out of my way to listen to her work too much lately, but 2024 was definitely the year for Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. It's always nice when songs pop on my liked playlist, they're such bops. #chappellroan

#swordtember day 11: Scene Queen! A perfect choice for today to honor her new album Metalicious. I love the vibes of her music and the whole Bimbocore aesthetic she rolls with. It just makes all her music sound super unique! #scenequeen

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

#swordtember day 10: Kinneret! Heavily based this one on her album Field Guide, which I listened to nonstop last year when it was released. Kinneret has amazing bars and beats, and Field Guide is definitely worth the listen #kinneret

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

#swordtember day 9: Japanese Breakfast! Went heavy into the Sable theme (since she did the soundtrack) for this one. I pretty much started listening to her around the time I was playing the game, then kind of realized she did the music for it! #japanesebreakfast

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

#swordtember day 8: Gorillaz! Coming upon one of the last OG bands I was in to, but I think this is the one I've kept up with the most. I always love how you'll get such a wide range of styles while listening to them, makes it so I can listen to them for hours! #gorilaz

051

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

#Swordtember Day 7: Magdalena Bay! God all their work just oozes style! I really want to see them live again sometime. Really leaned into Imaginal Disk for this one, I almost added a bit more on the guard but went for the glitchy aura instead. #magdalenabay

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

#swordtember day 6: Korn! I think of all the artists that I started off listening to, Korn might be my favorite. Just listening to them as I did this one there were so many bangers I hadn't heard before. Was really leaning into the untitled album motifs for the design, with a reference to Issues too

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

#swordtember day 5: The Last Dinner Party! They have been just a constant for me this year ever since I saw them live, I can just listen to them forever. Probably one of the top concerts I've gone to ever, they're energy is so much fun and their music is great! #thelastdinnerparty

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

#swordtember day 4: Metallica! This was another of the bands I listened to when I was first finding what music I liked. I tried to put elements of all the albums I listened to back then into this one. #metallica

031

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

#swordtember day 3: Lucy Dacus! Really went off the Forever is a Feeling art to make something elegant, but with a lightweight feel. Lucy Dacus is so wonderful, I've seen her twice live and definitely will go again when she comes around. #lucydacus

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

#swordtember day 2: System of a Down! They were the first band that ever really clicked with me back in middle school. I need to go back and listen to them more since I feel like I would get the themes and lyrics way more now. #systemofadown

Vin @vincentiusart.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Happy #Swordtember everyone! To start my swords off, here is one based off the band I saw live most recently: The Crane Wives! Absolutely adore them, their lyrics fantastic and they have such nice folk rock sound. #Cranewives

#Swordtember is nearly upon us! I decided to do something really different (and maybe stupid) and instead of going of a prompt list, I've made a list of 30 bands/artists I like and will base the designs off them. And probably share my favorite songs by them too.
