So fun when my friend who engages with social media from a corporate working perspective and I who engages from a one man show perspective sit down and yap about our findings about how people interact with things online, the apps, and social commentary we honestly feel like this

Primetime was amazing visually- the editing, the color grading, the cinematography Also the aspect of moral superiority commentary, great for this day and age and wondering how ppl will engage with that

New character for my #GreatGatsbyIIE graphic novel: Madame Modesta Le Loup the “She-Wolf of Harlem”

Gatsby standing in background while Modesta is seated closer to foreground in pink dress, shaded by plants. She has an ivory cane and tooth jewelry on her fur coat

Text:

Modesta is my take on OG book Gatsby’s criminal underworld boss, Meyer Wolfshiem. She’s loosely inspired by the real life Black Woman mob boss of Harlem, Stephanie St Clair.
In my retelling, Modesta and Gatsby work together in more ways than one. Aside from the most talked about criminal racketeering of the time, prohibition, they also have ties to the fashion world. I don’t want to share too much but I can give you this. With my version of Gatsby being an up and coming fashion designer, he’s the personal stylist for Modesta. Ensuring that she continues looking poised and someone to respect (and remembering to take her dental trophies into consideration with each look)

Gatsby!Obsession AU part 3 (1/3) Daisy got dolled up one stormy afternoon and discovered. Nick isnt too phased by his cousin’s absence though.

First panel: Wide overhead of Nick walking on his porch fishing for keys. Tom is following him up the porch steps.
Tom: Look-
I know I've already asked
But not even
Jordan has heard or seen Daisy in days.
And the maid
says Daisy made plans to visit you the day she disappeared.

Nick: Daisy was supposed to visit but never did.
I assumed it was because of the rain.

Tom: How come you never mentioned-?

Second panel: Nick unlocks his front door and Tom is looking upset.

Nick: -Tom
If I had any idea as to where my cousin would be
I'd say
something.

Third panel: Nick opens the door but stops.

Tom off panel: I think
Daisy finally left me.

Fourth panel: Nick looks back, door ajar, at Tom lamenting on the porch steps.

Tom: I think she may have gotten fed up with..
I just
expected it to end
in a big fight. Over some other man, ya know.
Not vanishing out the blue

Fifth panel: Nick raises an eyebrow but looks unreadable.

Off panel Tom: Not like this.

Sixth panel: Nick shrugs his shoulders

Nick: Maybe she
did run off with someone.
She can get swept up into things like that.
But I believe she'll come back. And so should you.

Seventh panel: Tom eyes Nick curiously

Tom: ..Thanks, Nick.

It’s very funny to live in a time where people get very and I mean PERSONALLY upset about their fave character being in any pain or characters having any negative flaws that make them unique and wanting all things corrected. Legitimate Happily Ever After for the whole story.
