25 years after 9/11, I can't think of anything good that has happened in the world since, except more Chinese and developing countries people getting out of poverty, continued advances in medical science and better personal technology. Everything else has been a disaster, a blur or a waste of time.

John Healey as chancellor of the Exchequer is a smart move. Balances Burnham's folksy persona with a serious/sober number two without downsides of Miliband (media/City hysteria from day one) and Mahmood (in-your-face, eat-your-greens style + personal ambition). Also positive signal for defence.
