Snaaaaakes... took some extra time setting up a piece of paper in the shape of a dollar bill cause I DON'T wanna use actual dollar bills for these things lmao #origami

Saturday/Sunday, June 6/7 2026 - "Ssssssmart Folding"
"How do you make a robot slither like a snake? Use origami! Scientists at the University of Southern Denmark turned to origami when designing a snakelike robot to move in small, narrow spaces. They wanted to re-create rectilinear locomotion, the way snakes move by shifting small muscles that connect their ribs and skin. By creating a "skin" out of laminated textiles, they were able to produce an "origami bellow" that can expand with air and retract to move like a snake does. The origami-inspired body keeps the robot lightweight and flexible. The scientists hope it will eventually be used for exploration in space and search and rescue missions!"

Getting caught back up, some neat info about origami conventions here, and a swordfish! And this calendar recognizes Pride Month! Happy Pride everybody!! ❤️💜💙 #origami

Saturday/Sunday, May 30/31 2026 - "Come into the Fold"

Origami conventions are the perfect opportunity to meet fellow folders! Take classes taught by origami masters, shop for unique supplies, see amazing works of art, and socialize at origami conventions around the world. The biggest is held by OrigamiUSA in New York City each year, but there are plenty of smaller cons to visit too.

Catching up on the #origami with a weekend story about wet folding, and an opportunity to make a couple lil boots!

Saturday/Sunday, May 23/24 2026 - "Just Add Water"

"Don't panic if your folding paper gets wet — use it as a chance to practice wet folding! Origami master Akira Yoshizawa developed wet folding to give his folds a less geometric, more lifelike appearance. Dampening a heavier piece of paper makes it easier to fold curves and mold the paper to your desired shape. Use clothespins or binder clips to hold the folds in place while the paper dries and to prevent wrinkles. This technique is perfect for more realistic animal origami or anything curved!"

On that note, I've been goin through my PC to check on how it's doin, and while I've got some space free it's lookin a lil fuller than expected. I definitely blame having to download all my old stream VODs thanks to Twitch, but also why is the Metaphor demo over half the size of the full game???

File directories for Metaphor: ReFantazio, its demo, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon, detailing their file sizes.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is 56.3 gigabytes.
Metaphor is 85 gigabytes.
For some reason, the Metaphor demo is 53.8 gigabytes, over half the size of the full game

Properties window for the folder containing my old stream videos, detailing how the total file size is 338 gigabytes.
