Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 08/04/2025Somehow wanted to do three book clubs this month thanks to @blackwalnutbooks.bsky.social having some excellent picks, and finished two out of three, fruiting bodies is the third and I’m starting it today! 063
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 27/03/2025Me talking to anyone and everyone about One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad. Do you think he’s read Le Guin? 010
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 06/03/2025Some books for right now. Just stared reading Dark Laboratory after finishing Undrowned and Chain-gang All-stars. Then will likely start A Certain Hunger and Shock Doctrine, and sneak in The Lottery graphic novel sometime this weekend 📚🌿 020
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 06/03/2025Once I fix the moldy linen closet, rip out the water damaged lathe and plaster in the spare bedroom, and get a designated creative space set up in our 1898 home, it’s back to regularly scheduled art making 010

Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 21/01/2025My boss: why are you on your phone at work? Me: I had to look up photos of bog body outfits 031
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 21/01/2025Idk I feel like if you’re arguing over whether it is or is not a nazi salute that’s proof enough the situation is and has been fucked up 000
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 21/01/2025Wasn’t sure if the guillotine was too much for Instagram but it’s still up! Here’s basically a collage of where I’m currently at emotionally I guess 000
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 20/01/2025I don’t want to tell Meta this but after the Tik tok stunt I really don’t want to be on Tik tok anymore… 020

Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 20/01/2025Coming back from my first migraine in a while doesn’t feel too differently from trudging through a fog - having a hard time distinguishing much, but happy to be moving through it 010
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 19/01/2025I’d like to find some books like the show scavenger’s reign 010
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 19/01/2025Hello, #booksky - here’s the stack of books I’ll be pulling from this year, in between library reads and impulse purchases. Any on your reading lists this year? I’ll miss the corners of booktok I lurked in, so here’s to trying to find more people to follow, again. 070
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 08/01/2025Tried to explain to a work friend that when I hear the word Rainman my mind goes to that Rainmaker scene in Looper, and not to some other poorly aged movie I’ve actually never seen. 000

Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 05/12/2024Hi, just wanted to share this round, napping screech owl 040
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 05/12/2024Was really hoping for a snow day so I could read Absolution all day 010
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 04/12/2024I think I want to move away from being a genderless goblin and work on being hot 000
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 03/12/2024I know this is in reference to masking and Covid but this is how I’m trying to approach my gut reactions these days for all things. Whole thread here is great. 010
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 03/12/2024Didn’t realize Ralph Ineson is in the new Nosferatu movie, as if my expectations weren’t high enough with the rest of the cast list. I will watch him in anything, as long as he’s got that Yorkshire accent, my god. I’m truly about to be insufferable. 000
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 03/12/2024What’s a popular book you really did not like? For me it’s gotta be Tender is the Flesh. For how brutal everyone made it out to be I expected a lot more from it as far as the story goes. 100
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 25/11/2024How do I find people doing things I like on here because I don’t like it right now 000
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 22/11/2024Fable is fun, I was trying to think what my current favorite books are and I think this is a pretty decent attempt at a list: 110
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 22/11/2024I really just want to talk so much shit but I’m trying to be a better person 100
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 21/11/2024Bonded with someone new at work over playing a lot of magic the gathering, then was asked what I like to read and said, have you read Doppelganger by Naomi Klein? And definitely over stepped my “I’m just not into politics” line I’ve been trying to walk at work 🌝 120
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 20/11/2024I’d like to print out the Afterword of Rebecca Solnit’s Hope in the Dark and just hand it out to people. 000
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 19/11/2024Sometimes I see what people post about books I love or read recently and think, are we reading the same books? 000
Rachel @villagebooksmith.bsky.social · 19/11/2024Seems like we are all chasing the feeling of being on the early days of Instagram but I gotta say, no one gave a shit about curated aesthetics and photo quality then 020
