You don't necessarily need a big "shakeup" to affect the tone and coverage. Stelter's own comments are exhibit 1, whether he realizes it or not.

Seems the MAGA movement gave up their preoccupation with pedophiles and switched to trans folks and their friends after it dawned on them that those pedo guys were a big portion of their leadership.

Remembering from my youth some AM stations worth staying up late at night for: WLS, WWL, WLAC, WLW, WAPE, KMOX, WTOP, and others. Mostly 50,000 watts clear channel.

Seems like a pretty technical economics question to ask the general public. I had macro some years back and haven't a clue. The responses more likely just reflect today's fashionable cynicism on almost any question.

You do understand that any money that ICE pays for damages ultimately comes from you and me, not from them.

On a more serious note, real meat can be produced without the need to raise and destroy millions of large mammals. The roadblocks are scaling up from demo stage and getting over the ick factor.

Gas in the U.S. is still well below the price in Europe before the troubles began earlier this year. We need to disincentivize the purchase of those big behemoth cars and promote transition to EVs. It's easy to forget that high gas prices are a result of demand as well as supply.

When one tax (e.g., grocery tax) is eliminated or reduced another tax (e.g., property tax) is raised to achieve the same revenue. It's a political shell game.

What's with Brian Stelter on CNN this morning hyping the new 60 Minutes? It was strange and embarrassing.

Since it is worldwide, it is not likely to be stopped or even reigned in without a major international treaty. But it doesn't look like anyone is even working on it. Congress is at least a decade behind in regulating the development and use of AI.

Not to change the subject, but you all know that beef and other animal meat can now be "cultivated" in factories without the need to slaughter millions of large corn fed mammals. It's just getting over the ick factor and scaling up production.

Yes. Having to take your eyes off the road to seek out tiny icons on a screen in the middle of the dash is nuts.

To: "The Benefits Department." Anyone using heavily discounted USPS bulk rate and presorted first class rates should be required to provide clear and accurate return address info on the envelope. No one using the USPS should be allowed to misrepresent themselves as a government agency.

It's odd that the safety experts load cars with bells and warnings (like the annoying seatbelt chime), but ignore the risk of taking your eyes off the highway to locate some tiny icon buried in layers of touch screens.

How is this not war? Seems like there would be a treaty among nations to restrict this kind of madness before it escalates into a catastrophe.

Utility costs are impossible to regulate effectively. They hold all the cards in rate hearings and in many/most states the commissions are stacked against the public. Distributed generation is the only way to go.

I had rooftop solar 15 yrs ago in SC when there were federal tax credits. Now in NC and incentives have since disappeared.

They're buying it back because it is legal to do so and makes money for the execs and shareholders. It's up to the federal government to set the guardrails. Huge defense corporations that depend on the govt for their very existence are problematic on many levels.

The ACA is a federally subsidized money cow for insurance companies. That's the only reason their lobbyists allowed it to become law.

Widespread rooftop solar eases stress on the grid and also shades those dark grey heat absorbing asphalt shingles that we knuckleheads are still putting on new residential construction.

It's like there is a basket of policy positions labelled moderate, another progressive and another conservative. As though one's position on an education issue determines their position on national defense, and their position on border security is linked to their position on abortion.

The die was cast when importers to retailers failed to keep an accounting trail leading up to the customers who ultimately paid at the cash register. A tariff fee should have been itemized on receipts, just like the state sales tax.

Hawley lectured Fauci shamelessly on his quest for "awards," implying that the doctor was misusing his staff to seek tokens of personal recognition. In fact, "awards" are the result of successful grant applications, which are the lifeblood of research. Hawley, of course, knew this.

Root cause: Insurance companies have no legitimate role in health care. Gambling on people's health as a profit center for execs and shareholders doesn't work. The model doesn't fit.

Yes, thank you. I keep making the same comment when this misinformation pops up. The camps were started right away. Communists were a significant violent force at that time and a lot of the public was happy to see them apprehended. (Not that the Brown Shirts were any better.)

In the olden days under a functioning government, a bipartisan congress would have consulted experts, held hearing and crafted guidelines to regulate the forthcoming industry. Absent any rules, all we have is the honor system.
