I had a CD break one time but the break was just a bit on the side that I noticed didn't go through the data track, so I tossed it in my CD drive to dump an ISO. It sounded like absolute hell. I don't trust anything unbalanced at those kinds of speeds.

A broken CD. Two pieces are cracked off the side that are maybe 1/3 of the outer radius, leaving a mostly straight cut out of the side of the CD.

Sometimes even the greats struggle

A series of three sketches of girls' heads by Henri Matisse. The top left one has somewhat awkward proportions facing forwards and has some shading but it's incomplete. The top right one is also facing forwards and has extremely awkward proportions, with the face weirdly narrow and the outline of the head weirdly triangular. The bottom one is better proportioned but facing to the side.

...this doesn't mean anything. Performance and latency are barely related, and file formats are not at all related to either of them.

The developers behind Azahar have been working hard recently to improve performance; for example, the issue of latency was fixed in a recent update by allowing the emulator to handle .3ds files.
