A very useful and comprehensive joint FIGO-WHF (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics and World Heart Federation) position paper which highlights that menopause should be considered a ‘window of opportunity’ for comprehensive individual cardiovascular risk profile evaluation.

Yesterday was tiring, But incredibly satisfying! The little one and me enjoyed being part of a sea of orange in Gravesend (1700 walkers) and walking for over 8 Km over 2 hours through the town. Amazing experience and lovely community spirit at the annual Ellenor Twilight walk🚶. www.ellenor.org

Balance exercises primarily protect bones by preventing the falls that cause dangerous fractures, while also strengthening the stabilising muscles that support the skeletal system. To learn balance exercises and safe movements, you can check the guidance provided by the Royal Osteoporosis Society.

Musculoskeletal symptoms involving muscles, bones and joints affect 40-60% during menopause transition and beyond. There is a significant overlap between such symptoms and several rheumatological conditions.

Worldwide, the incidence of cancer in adolescent and young adults (AYA, 18 to 39 years) has been increasing over time. The survival rates for young adult cancer survivors have seen significant improvement, largely attributed to advances in early diagnosis, treatment protocols & specialised care.

A useful systematic review of literature from Cai et al. on psoriasis (PsO) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and the impact of sex hormones on these closely related inflammatory diseases with marked sex differences. The authors included a total of 72 studies. link.springer.com/article/10.1...

We are seeing an increasing amount of research focussed on oestrogens and cognition. Every study adds to our understanding. Here is a large observational UK Biobank study from Squires et al. exploring association between Hormone replacement therapy and dementia risk among postmenopausal women.
