Is there a license I can use for code/writing that is open source BUT explicitly excludes permission to train LLMs with?

For 40 years, Michelle Cournoyer has supported students and faculty, solved problems, and shown up with heart. As she prepares to retire this August, we celebrate the impact of a true Steward Observatory legend: bit.ly/3GWkAQv

The first photos from the Vera Rubin Observatory are stunning — thanks in part to the University of Arizona, which helped build its mirror. Proud to see Arizona leading the way in space science.

Space Drafts 107 is coming your way on May 20! 7:30pm AZ time at Borderlands Brewing's downtown location and bit.ly/SpaceDrafts107! Steward astronomers Dr. Koushik Sen and Vikram Manikantan (@vikmani.bsky.social) will be talking about eclipsing binary stars and black holes!
Advertisement for Space Drafts 107. The Space Drafts logo is in the center with talk and speaker information on the sides. On the left is an image of a binary star system and the corresponding brightness of the system as a function of time, an image of Koushik Sen, the speaker's name, and the talk title "Batman and Eclipsing Binaries." On the right are several artist's impressions of black holes, each surrounded by an orange disk, an image of Vikram Manikantan, the speaker's name, and the talk title "A Brief History (and Future) of Black Holes."

Trump's campaign of revenge against the United States. Smart people like scientists didn't support him so he's trying to destroy scientists, their careers and their work. Hail to the thief.

"Attorney General shall initiate appropriate action to repeal or amend the implementing regulations for Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for all agencies" What's Title VI? "prohibits discrimination against or otherwise excluding individuals on the basis of race, color, or national origin"

new paper yesterday! and first on the arxiv! arxiv.org/abs/2504.12375 we use GRMHD simulations and radiative transfer to show that eccentric binary black holes are unique in their accretion rate, jet power, and synchrotron emission in IR and optical wavelengths

Exploring Tucson? The New York Times recommends heading to the Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter, where scientists lead "staggering viewings through giant telescopes." Be sure to book your viewing! skycenter.arizona.edu/news/nyt-spe...

Every semester, our graduate students are awarded three nights of observing time on the Kuiper 61" telescope for eyepiece observing! It is a truly unique opportunity to use research-grade facilities to connect with the dark skies near Tucson 🔭 Image credits: Mahdi Naseri
