The tells are going away but they're still here right now, and I wish I had some way of sharing my pattern recognition with people because at some point it will be impossible for almost anyone to tell, but I just don't think we're there yet. It's still so obvious to me when it's used.

I really need to accept that my ability to detect AI usage in text and images is supranormal, and as a result will not be believed and will never be seen as useful or valid and I just have to live with that. It's exhausting man.

You've just said "there are no tells anymore" and then immediately suggested that their style will be at the whims of the models they use. Honey, those are tells. There are tells. The problem is most people glom onto "Em dashes!" without having the smallest clue what the tells actually are.

No. This is bad advice. There is no tool AI or otherwise that can prove anything was AI written or created* (Except for watermarking solutions like SynthID, but this is fundamentally different and AI writing "detectors" do not use watermarking detection)

Not saying it's right to witch hunt, but my GOD Steph the amount of AI swill everywhere right now is growing exponentially. And it sucks esp. for me because I've a keener eye for it and I don't accuse without proof, but I'm reaching the point where I'm just like "okay, let the slop win". I'm tired.

Agreed, but as someone who used AI a ton and am now trying to learn art and other methods to reduce and remove my usage of it completely, a large portion of writing online now IS obviously AI and they rely on the "witch hunt" defence to continue posting their garbage uncontested.

I want to remain cognisant of AI use in general, and when I'm earning the big bucks I'll hire artists and musicians to root all the AI stuff out lol. I'm trying to do what I can with the tools I have. Hope this helps set the tone for people 💝

I really want to stress that not all AI used in the game is going to be replaced, but it'll be clearly marked in the Steam store page AI disclosure, and I'll add a toggle in game to make whatever is left over completely optional. People may find that disappointing, and I get it.
