After further testing, I came to the conclusion that the tool is simply too unreliable to be used for detection. I tried to figure out if I was doing something wrong and causing a false negative. Indeed, the FAQ does warn against cropping, so I did some testing. a thread. 🧵

This doesn't even really account for Mystia still, since yknow. she doesn't fit the "vibe" literally at all but it's probably the best explanation I can personally give. That or people pair Cirno and Daiyousei a lot and Wriggle and Mystia and people wanted to add their girlfriends.

the latter is most commonly referred to as the lake fairy crew (which... doesn't really make sense), and not 9 gang, but it still is sometimes. but it is to essentially say that it's sort of random. I think the best way to describe it is probably just characters who fit the fanon "Vibe" of 9 gang.

You also gotta keep in mind not everyone even agrees on what members comprise of the 9 gang. Most people agree its Cirno, Daiyousei, Rumia, Wriggle and Mystia but some people think it's just Cirno, Rumia, Wriggle and Mystia. Others think it's just Cirno, Daiyousei and Rumia

It's honestly a little confusing especially since lily white would be part of the group too, no? I think the most likely answer is a single fanartist made the 5 of them a grouping, other artists saw this and went "Aww, cute!!" and started drawing that.
