VICTOR at the 2026 Earth Educators’ Rendezvous! 📚🌎 It was wonderful meeting so many passionate educators and sharing the VICTOR platform with the broader geoscience community. Stay tuned for educational materials developed at the conference, which will be made available on our website soon!
Sophia, VICTOR's Education Coordinator, wearing a gray VICTOR t-shirt and a white skirt, stands behind an exhibition table. The exhibit includes a live demo of the platform, stickers, flyers, and lab examples. Behind Sophia is a banner with the VICTOR logo and title (Volcanology Infrastructure for Computational Tools and Resources).A sketch of the lava flows algorithm game and associated mathematical calculations are drawn in blue marker on a sheet of white poster paper.Arianna Soldati (left) and Sophia Sowinski (right) present a draft of their lava flows algorithm game. They stand in front of a whiteboard, which has a grid featuring segments in shades of green, yellow, and brown, projected onto it. Arianna writes calculations to the left of the grid on the board in blue dry erase marker.

From Long Beach to DC, the VICTOR team has had an exciting few weeks presenting our work nationally! Lead PI Einat Lev spoke at the SZ4D Science Community Meeting (CA) and the NSF Open Science Ecosystem Meeting (DC). We also showcased our NASA-funded work for congressional staffers on the Hill. 🌋🏛️
Lead PI Einat Lev stands at a podium, presenting a slide entitled, “From Isolated Models to Digital Twins: Integrated Volcanic System Simulations with VICTOR.” The slide depicts puzzle pieces of an erupting volcano joining together to produce the image. Collaborators include Sam Krasnoff, Leif Karlstrom, and Eric Hutton. This picture was taken at the SZ4D Science Community Meeting in Long Beach, CA.Education Coordinator Sophia Sowinski (center right), stands with (from left to right) Nathan Robb, Christine McCarthy, and Paul Lerner outside of the Hart Senate Building. The Capitol Building can be seen in the background. This picture was taken in Washington DC at an event named, “Igniting Discovery: How NASA Funding Advances American Science.”
