Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 09/10/2026I will see you there! I’m working on a piece about the ministerial exception and clergy employment contracts. 110
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 09/10/2026It was not the easiest process to figure out but I’m officially registered to vote in Florida! Never been more excited to vote. 030
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I’m not sure I see it as bragging any more than just sharing that you passed in your own state. I’m pretty sure I said that when I passed. But I also went on to be admitted in 4 states including some that req the highest scores. It’s the equivalent of celebrating not having to take it again. 001
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026For students who want to be admitted in more than one state & those states have different score reqs, it matters. I’ve also seen people post that they got the score they needed for the jurisdiction of their choice or that they didn’t but they were able to be admitted to a different jurisdiction. 110
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026And also I owe a lot to my job, the teaching, the faculty community at my new job, and the amazing opportunities (see conferences) that have helped my brain be re-energized to keep moving forward. 000
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Also hi it’s me coming up for air. Turns out having a baby, moving cross country, and starting a new job in a 4 month time frame was a little ambitious (crazy?) but now that the baby is almost 6mo and we’ve been here for 3mo, I’m starting to stabilize. 100
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Ngl I miss the old twitter culture. I got so much value from interacting with people in my fields and made great connections. I always tell my students “you get out what you put in” so maybe I should take my own advice? 100
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Reading this thread and all I keep thinking is that it depends what you mean when you say religion. But agree that spaces exist whether we define religion broadly or narrowly. And that places where people feel connected/belong/find meaning matter. 011
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 29/07/2026I’m not sure what your school’s requirements are but I’m thinking of doing an in class essay (not issue spotter) exam for my seminar this fall. Possibly giving my students a list of topics/questions in advance and leaning toward closed book. Not sure this can replace a research paper. 001
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 01/06/2026Just signed up for new weather alerts because today is the first day of hurricane season and at the end of this month, I’ll live in Florida. Starting to feel very real! 010
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 06/05/2026Hope you enjoy your trip! HK is one of my favorite places. I actually interviewed to teach at a law school in that area and was seriously considering it but it is very far!! 000
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 06/05/2026Also I think I’ve seen you share some Jewish stuff. If you’re interested, there is a synagogue & community center. Mostly expats but I went to a Shabbat service there in 2017 & thought it was worthwhile. www.totallyjewishtravel.com/thejewsofhon...totallyjewishtravel.comThe Jews Of Hong KongThe Jews Of Hong Kong 100
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 06/05/2026If you’re at all into Disney, Hong Kong Disneyland is cheaper and nicer than the U.S. ones & has very cool snacks. We did a history tour that also got into the politics & current relationship between china & HK (we were there during 2019-20 protests). Something like this one: 100
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 06/05/2026You’re visiting so many amazing places this year! You didn’t ask for recs but I can’t help but recommend taking a food tour in Kowloon. Literally the best noodles I’ve ever eaten. Also try to find a place for desert soup. Enjoy!! 100
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 06/05/2026Woke up from a long New England winter (kind of - it’s still cold out!) and now I’m moving to Florida next month. This year was a drawn out holding pattern made infinitely better by my students. Still can’t believe I get to be a law professor! 010
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 05/05/2026Also anyone that can explain law review submission strategy including norms around circulating drafts and generally how to make it less bad 000
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 05/05/2026I don’t have a specific person in mind but generally someone who can talk about teaching and assessments in the age of AI. I have new preps coming up and am trying to figure out if/how to assign take home assessments or papers. 000
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 23/04/2026A thread with some of my initial reactions and questions. My TLDR is that I don’t expect there to be resources to enforce the fed regulation on state medical licensees so then not sure how much it matters. Most curious about a 280E hierarchy between med/adult use & challenge for hybrid operators. 000
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Another area where it is very silent (possibly because AG’s power and focus is rescheduling) is what any of this means for medical patients. If they are using a state med product, now considered schedule 3, does that change civil rights law, employment drug testing, disability accommodations? etc. 010
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Interestingly it does say (with disclaimer) that this means 280E won’t apply to state medical licensees. It doesn’t clarify whether that will be true only if they have a DEA license. It also doesn’t mention interstate commerce at all. (Assuming export/import = international) 100
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Along with the treaty obligation comes other requirements in terms of DEA controlling the sale of plants and some quota. It’s not totally clear but the fed reg is supposed to align with treaty obligations. 100
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 23/04/2026It bases the the AG’s power to make this move on compliance with international treaty. The order claims this means they don’t need to rely on a medical/scientific determination though they still consider the HHS recommendation and also that this is exempt from notice and comment period. 100
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 23/04/2026My focus on reading it and what seems like the more impactful move involved the state licensed med products. It seems to contemplate that state licensees may/will or in some cases it seems like have to (within 60 days) register with the DEA. It seems to contemplate that state license = fed license. 100
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Just read through this order signed by the interim AG moving FDA approved mj products and state licensed med mj products to Schedule 3 and want to share some of my initial reactions and questions. Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 23/04/2026I’ve been seeing lots of news about an order signed by the interim AG that would make state med mj products schedule 3 but am v confused because schedule 3 drugs require fda approval so like are we just ignoring the fda now? 010

Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 13/01/2026As federal power expands in areas like immigration enforcement and defense, I find myself thinking more about what happens to the ordinary, day-to-day functioning of government. www.cato.org/regulation/w...cato.orgThe Rise of Post-Supremacy FederalismWhat happens when the federal government stops cooperating? 000
Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 30/12/2025This project will also always hold a special place in my heart because it pushed me to expand my scholarship into a new field (federalism theory) and helped me get a dream job. Victoria Litman @victorialitman.bsky.social · 30/12/20256 months ago post-supremacy federalism was an idea in my head and now it’s something that shows up when you google the term. I know it will take time and effort to share my idea more broadly but I created a concept and am hopeful someone will find it useful (even if they totally disagree with it). 100
