Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I am so relieved that your illness is temporary and for a good cause! 020
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Who on earth is watching Doctor Who for the realistic special effects? Or even just “pretty good” ones? 081
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 11/09/2026It’s missing “The People That We Love” by Bush, too - probably because it’s listed in the memo under its original title “Speed Kills” but the title was changed very soon after the attacks. (It had only been released on 11 September 2001, terrible timing!) 000
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Something similar happened to a friend of mine. They managed to get it in and opened it without being caught, but got busted when staff noticed them drinking an alcopop that they didn’t stock. 😂 040
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 09/09/2026I think you have misread the skeet that you are responding to. 2140
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 02/09/2026I understand that the distinction is unimportant to most people in most contexts. I find it interesting, though. You don’t have to. 010
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 02/09/2026But it doesn’t seem to sense “wet” consistently, when you actually think about it. Like the examples already given, or the slightly more alarming one where it’s possible to be slowly bleeding from a small wound without realising it until you happen to see it (or someone else points it out). 110
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 01/09/2026“Wet” is essentially a way we interpret combinations of temperature and pressure rather than something we directly feel. It’s actually quite difficult to feel still/slow-moving liquids that are close to body temperature! And sometimes cold objects feel like they’re damp even though they’re dry. 3120
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Just to add another data point: I’m in Australia, and I have “Lake Ontario” and “Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)” 210
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Maybe he just wasn’t a spewy kid? I know we had a mixing bowl that doubled as the sick bowl in my family, but I only really remember my siblings needing it. 000
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Always-on LEDs built into every little appliance. The one in my bedside phone charging stand is bright enough that I can use it for hand shadow puppets on the ceiling! 1270
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Figuring that out was a game changer for me! Also, I now think of cutlery/crockery as individual items moving through a cycle of states rather than thinking of the washing up as one task that is either Done or Not Done. (Ditto clothes and the laundry) 161
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 11/08/2026That’s a great bit to have up your sleeve at signings though! They must get a bit repetitive 000
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Thank you very much for bringing this important matter to my attention 🙏🏻 010

That would not have encouraged female shooters. 020
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Wikipedia’s article on ISSF Olympic Skeet says “According to the Federation, the decision was taken "to allow more places for well-qualified men;" trap and skeet events had used a quota system since 1952, which stated no country could field more than two competitors of any gender, and the 100

Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 27/06/2026Omg that’s absolutely amazing! I wonder if the price is surprisingly low because of import restrictions on ivory? 030
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 24/06/2026Surely patients are allowed to choose to share their own medical information 110
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 16/06/2026I broke my >1,000 day streak, cancelled my subscription and uninstalled the app when they pivoted to AI. I’m learning a language to connect with other humans, not have statistically-generated slop pushed on me. 020
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 18/05/2026No worries, I would have done the exact same thing if I’d been there! 020

Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 25/03/2026She’s clearly been the victim of an extremely rare micro-downpour. She probably needs a treat or two after such an ordeal. 060
Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 24/03/2026Does that make you young at ear? (Hope you’re feeling better soon!) 070

Vic @vickelchen.bsky.social · 11/02/2026Population-level gaslighting is all I can think of. If you get people thinking it was widespread without there being widespread severe illnesses and death, then they’re also more open to related conspiracy theories. 000
