Work is done at the #LFEnergySummit in #Berlin, so I have time to be a tourist. I've somehow never noticed that the German text is half the size of the English, Russian and French versions.

(Reproduction of) a sign at Checkpoint Charlie reading in English, Russian, French and German: "you are leaving the American sector". The German writing is half the size of the other languages.

Goodbye, Prague! Got on the European Sleeper at 6pm, nearly 2 hours underway now. The wagon I'm in is old, but clean. So far, I'm alone in my cabin. I pulled the table from under one of the benches and set it up. Plugged my laptop and phone in, quite workable […] [Original post on hachyderm.io]

Got to ride the repainted Mat'64 train that's temporarily serving the Ede-Wageningen to Amersfoort line (het kippenlijntje, the little chicken line) while the regular (more modern) trains are repainted (and refurbished) because of new branding.

If an audiophile near you suddenly started crying just now, don't worry, it's just me extending a speaker cable with a proprietary connector by cutting it in half, stripping the isolation, twisting it with another piece of speaker wire and wrapping it all up again.

Two splices in a speaker cable, wrapped with blue shrink wrap, and a green proprietary speaker plug. All laying on my blue jeaned lap.
