Halloween post #9: In The Adventures Of Willy Beamish (PC), Willy trains for the Nintari Championships by playing "Monster Squad". It's not playable, but the Sega CD version adds a different game, "Super Space K'noidtrix", which IS playable; maybe I'll capture footage of that one day.

Keith Courage In Alpha Zones, a launch/pack-in game for TurboGrafx 16, has FINALLY been mapped, thanks to newcomer TimbreWulf! It's one of the 24 games that I was surprised hadn't been mapped yet, as mentioned on the 24th anniversary in May. Fifth one checked off in five months!

Halloween post #4: I just started Resident Evil VII.I.AGE this morning before breakfast! Anyway, here's a clip from Resident Evil (2023 version), in Ada's "Separate Ways". Laser rooms appear in a few Resident Evil games but originated in the first Resident Evil film from 2002.

I started the October tradition of watching Halloween-themed movies on Friday movie night with Minions & Monsters (2026). I don't get why it has 89% on RottenTomatoes, esp. compared to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie's 59%. Maybe movie critics like the old-timey movie references?

I don't mean by the (imagined) Fatality (from the bus). I guess more accurately, "to HEAR that it ends the same way as Mortal Kombat (1995)". That's the same tune, Orbital's "Halcyon + On + On", which I guess I remember its name as it's from one of my first soundtrack CDs ever.

I've made the "October 3rd" reference for a few years but I only actually got around to watching Mean Girls (2004) last year. I was surprised to see that it ends the same way that Mortal Kombat (1995) does.

This is the 16th Metroid commercial I've posted on here in recent days; probably the last for now. Metroid: Other M (Wii) is almost universally reviled, but you could tell they tried to expand on Samus's story. This is evident in its commercial, way cooler than the game itself.

I've been posting Metroid commercials lately and many have been neat, but I shouldn't pass up the chance to present the worst Metroid commercial, a Canadian one for Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Even if you could find the "twist" amusing, isn't it odd to not show a frame of gameplay or the box art?

Well, Mario Kart Tour is over. I don't know how I managed to play this just about every day of its existence. Frustrating how some people were all like "Nintendo is doomed, they should make mobile games" and then when they did, it seemed like not many people actually played them.

The Nintendo 64 was released in North America 30 years ago today. I found an import games store a few months earlier and rented Super Mario 64 and a Japanese N64. When Toys "Я" Us had demo kiosks, my friend, brother and I impressed everyone watching with how much we already knew about it.

The North American commercial for Metroid: Zero Mission was during the GBA and GameCube era when they had the "who are you?" campaign, highlighting Nintendo's stable of first-party characters and how you are like them when playing their games. (Kind of a memorable campaign, I kind of dig it.)
