McCoy is eleven months post-op and thoroughly accepts that three legs are just dandy. No risk assessment whatsoever 😅🥰 #catsofbluesky #cats #gingercats #orangecats #threeleggedcats #McCoy

McCoy is recovering well from his leg injury and no longer wears the Cone of Doom. He's clearly the most debonair of three-legged ginger gents. #McCoy #cats #gingercats #orangecats #catsofbluesky #threeleggedcats

A ginger cat with a white chest and paws relaxes outside, lying on a silvery log and gazes to the right. There is grass under the log and trees in the background - all a vibrant, sunny green.

McCoy has injured one of the three legs he has left. It's not serious, but he feels the indignity and confinement of the cone viscerally. Giving off heavy depression vibes here. Can relate. #cats #catsofbluesky #caturday #McCoy #gingercat

Ownership. When I buy something I want it to stay bought. I'm fed up subscribing and watching my hard earned cash just leach away into the sand over art that I truly love. I'm sick of renting happiness.

Any other #Merlin fans kicking about? I'm new to the show and now on Season 4. Don't think I have watched anything so simultaneously clunky and charming in my life. The Merlin/Arthur dynamic is adorable.

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition, The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance Iconic imo

Photograph from 1911 taken by Herbert Ponting whilst with Scott's Antarctic Expedition

The monochrome photo is taken from within a cave. The walls of the cave are made of ice. The cave entrance is in the mid distance with two figures standing looking out towards a distant ship. Between them and the ship there is first a 'beach' of ice before the sea itself. The ship could be up to 800 metres away

What makes the photo so special is that where the figures are at the cave entrance there is a band of very white snow and ice (contrasting with the comparatively dark inside of the cave) that creates a stark framework in which the men and the ship are captured. It is made even more dramatic by the fact that the cave entrance is at least 30 metres high and is in the shape of a distorted elipse with the tail sloping off to the right at the top of the elipse

The photo being in monochrome in a largely white environment makes the photographers skill all the more laudable

I have been distant from the fandom for a while, but it seems #GoodOmens is still in my brain. Dealing with a caller at work who was using a vile term to refer to a part of his mother, this angelic voice emerged from my throat: "Sir, there really is no need for that sort of language." He hung up.

Probably my favourite noir. Robert Ryan is electric. Ida Lupino is luminous. The setting is grit, followed by ice. Just wonderful.

I rewatched this a few weeks ago and was surprised at how bored I was. Robert Walker runs away with this movie in his fine two-tone shoes. I'm ashamed to say I wished Farley Granger had the violent end instead.

Absolutely, the eggs! Also, the predatory pacing around the bed, as Diane Taylor slowly wakes to the awful realisation of what kind of man she is with. Cady just winds himself up into a rage fueled by disgust. It is terrifying.

I acquired a lovely piece of baltic amber today. It looks like a completely different gem from every angle. A drop of whisky warmth that is at least 40 million years old. Or, as #GoodOmens fans will tell you, a joke that the palaeontologists haven't figured out yet...😉

A piece of baltic amber from Poland. It is about 36mm x 28mm at its longest and widest points. It is an irregular shape: rounded at one end, widening, and then tapering to a point at the other. It is backlit by the sun and displays a strong swirl of gold and orange tones throughout the gem. There is evidence of some organic matter within the piece, but it also conveys a sense of clarity. The whole effect is liquid warmth.
