.. I got lucky. With the 20min transfer time I managed to grab something to eat. Mh where is my real bretzel? I took the IC between Nürnberg and Stuttgart. It is great that this connection exists bc it saved me an hour of time on Sunday. However the line between […] [Original post on mstdn.social]

...and I made it! The ride was uneventful. However around Erfurt I started to feel hungry. I was hoping for some currywurst or wok dish. Did DB cut the offer in the dining car? Or is the choice of chilli con/sin carne vs potato soup an ICE3 thing? Either way […] [Original post on mstdn.social]

I had a very tight connection via S-Bahn to make a southbound train to Nürnberg at Berlin Südkreuz. At Berlin Lichtenberg I was greeted with Kraftwerk-Vibes. But I had no time to make a nicer photo. One of the best features of the Berlin network are those […] [Original post on mstdn.social]

In Poznan I at least found some deli for some refreshments before I went into the 9h31 IC to Berlin. Weirdly enough this #CrossBorderRail had worse AirCon than my IC to Poznan. I escaped to the @diningcar and went for some Pierogi - they were delicious! Also the […] [Original post on mstdn.social]

In Warsaw we arrived on time and instead of waiting two hours in an unwelcoming Zachodnia station - I jumped into the (reservation-free) IC to Poznan. Where I found Bretzels, but the wrong ones for a southern German. Sadly I only discovered before my train to […] [Original post on mstdn.social]

Okay here goes my little #SeagullWarPierogiPretzel #CrossBorderRail thread. I started yesterday in very rainy Riga with a 13h Bus trip with the 17h30 Warsaw bus. Luxexpress Buses are indeed very nice, but I made the mistake to forget my neckpillow. You can […] [Original post on mstdn.social]

Safe streets in #Riga (Terbates). In Germany would get shot for such a construction security
Riga Terbates. View of the street and the
pedestrian area. A manhole is missing some cobblestones. The cobblestones are loosely places around the manhole. As the manhole is on the pedestrian area apparently no one cares. There is no protection e.g. for a blind person. The manhole should be fenced off

@jon here my photos from Rail Baltica Riga station. So far it looks like the new structure covers 5 tracks. The old structure is covering also 5 tracks for now. Curious how this will look in a few months
