AND in how we sustain protocols and platforms. Defaulting to VC fundraising because it is easier, well, yes, but other funding models can become easier through practice. Let's take the time, and be intentional about transitioning from open protocols to shared commons.

And yes, one can argue about apathy of the collective, but really, what interest can one have when every contribution heretofore has been unacknowledged. We need to make the effort to engage, and provide value back to the collective. Economics is part of this --

Thank you for this wonderfully written piece. Your analysis of "open" as inherently non-neutral is spot on -- the people using platforms are creating value through their interactions, but have no say in how their creation is used or monetized, nor is their collective contribution acknowledged..
