Experimenting with constellations in resin. The Taurus one kinda flopped, but the Draco one didn't turn out too bad. Kinda wish I made it darker. But it has a nice color shift effect. At first i was worried the powder i used for the stars didnt show through, it still looked good, but lacked that Lil flair. But then in the right lighting it really shines.

Under better lighting the start and moon are much more visible. I used some nail salon stickers for the dragon and the present moon, but painted the residual moon glow in the back, inwas trying to go for that whole looking through the moons shadow concept.

I dont post much, but I have been working on things, but some items feel to "meh" to post, or a lot of flops. I need to change that mentality. I'm not used to posting my thoughts, but I want to put more effort into this platform. Sometimes, shouting to the void can be rather cathartic.

First attempt to capture the night sky in resin. A lot of flaws, but i did learn what to do differently for the next one, so far I like how the clouds came out, and the moon isnt too bad but I think ill try something slightly different on the next one.

Showcasing a simple design, I wanted something to go with my mask. The ring is titanium with nice etching. The inlays are some experimental UV resins mixed with different mica powders. The goal was to see how much I could mix and still get things to cure properly.

Hello all, it's been a long minute, moved, and had a lot of work changes and life just being life. I've been creating still, but too worn to consider posting. Things are slowly getting back on track. To start, here is a mask wip I made for a costume of mine. Mini paints and primers work great.

I used minitures painting primer to paint the mask and my new mini painting set-up to make myself a nice sugar skull. I am Hispanic IRL and share in some cultural practices, and I needed something to get me back into the scheme of painting again. It's still being worked on as a nice relaxation piece as painting the intricacies is a nice cathartic escape.

Lol, so I will be moving in a couple weeks, during packing, I keep getting distracted by my old stuff. One is a sketchbook I had in my 20s. This was a sketch I'd add to overtime, especially when I'd let my mind wonder, depending how I felt at the time. I guess its the closest id get to an emo phase?

Admittingly I do remember having a lot of emotional moments in my eairly 20s, as thats when my social life really took off, as that was when i got healthy and joined the RL part of the furry fandom.

However, due to past issues in my early upbringing, I figured i was prolly stunted in certain socialization skills and concepts and held a certain level of ineptitude.

While I had a lot of fun, i was actually fairly popular, it was basically me catching up with milestones in life that one would prolly have had in their high-school era, lots of great memories but lots of confusing ones as well.

Here, i was prolly trying to express it through my art, keyword "trying," lol. Though, looking back, i feel what matters is I hope i learned and evolved from my past mistakes, as well as understood, that I also played toxic roles as well as receiving them. I hope i can be forgiven for the negative effects i may have made, and forgive myself for not realizing certain things about myself that may also have been emotionally harmful to others. Still, I think it's an interesting collage.

More light practice from the same tutorial book, Dragon Art by J "NeonDragon" Peffer. Trying various structure techniques, seeing what feels right, so far I like the loose oval and rectangle method, this one uses guidelines in a grid like manner. Not perfect, but miles better than what I used to do

An old practice sketch from tutorial book Dragon Art by J "NeonDragon" Peffer. These books offer some very good tutorials and easy to understand instructions. I have branded off with my own concepts, plus since im moving and all my jewlery equipment is packed, drawing is easier to do currently, lol.

Tried to tinker with coloring, but i still need a lot of practice since I haven't figured out sketch color theory just yet, I'll have to look into some tutorials and books for that as well.

Finished another lil commission, the client requested something more durable. This is a tungsten carbide Damascus, that has been heat treated. The inlay is black opal. The size of this ring is a whopping 17Us. #ring #jewlery #opal #tungsten #Damascus #blackopal #art #crafting

The heat treating in person is a much brighter cobalt blue than what my phone could pick up. The client was very pleased. The ring itself is rather large, a size 17US whereas commonly stores don't sell above a 13US.

This thing took a good ammount of time to sand and polish, I kept running into pitting and bubble issues, thankfully they were simple enough to repair.

The Inlay is a very pretty black opal, there are two size types within the inlay, a powdered sand peppered with slightly larger stones, all hand set.

I love how Damascus has this beautiful wood grain look.

This was a fun one, was commissioned to make a full custom ring for a client that needed a size 17us the largest you can commonly find on the market is usually 13us. This was a valuable learning experience in improvisation and research study #ring #carbonfiber #art #jewlery #glow

The ring is made from a special carbon fiber layered with a kind of glow resin, it came out beautifully.

I had a heck of a time figuring out how to make such a large size, given all my resources are meant for standard sized rings. This really helped me learn to be more resourceful and push boundaries. I went through a lot of resin practice blanks, but totally worth it. I intend to use more carbon fiber in future projects.

What i like best about this ring is when charged, it looks like it is crackling with energy. I could prolly come up with some interesting cosplay concepts with this kind of material.

First of 5 experimental concepts, I carved several wood blanks, then set them in different dyed resins. It was originally supposed to look like a silver metal fused to wood, but the resin did not hold its shine. It instead took on a very pretty stone pattern. #ring #jewelry #wood #resin #crafting

I learned that certain dye powders will can not be sanded or cut into and keep it's simulated metal effect. However unique textures can be created. This was a beautiful surprise.

The finalized piece I plan to use a titanium core with a specialized milling. It will be inlayed with Malachite and a working gold resin mix. I also plan to set a half dome Malachite cabochon in the center as a main accent.

This one came out rather pretty, I must say. I was commissioned to create a ring for someone's partner. The core is black ceramic inlayed with various purple, pink, and violet toned opals. I made sure to hand set each stone so as to get the best shine. #ring #jewelry #ceramic #opal #crafting #art

I worked hard to peice, shape, and set each opal so as to make sure the ring shines brightly no matter the angle seen.

Ceramic is nice to work with since it's much easier to sand and polish the inlays without harming the core. Ceramic, however, can shatter easily should the ring fall from a great height or be struck harshly.

One good benefit is should the ring get snagged in any machinery, it will break off before your finger or at least hand. Better a finger loss than getting pulled in and potentially much worse.

This weave was actually pretty fun to make, it's also very sturdy, one day I'd like to make an armored shirt using steel rings and this weave, I could only imagine how heavy that would be tho.

This took a long time to make, actually. I had to deconstruct it and rebuild it 3 times because I kept running into issues at every stage. This, however, is a good thing because it gave me so much learning experience and a better understanding of my materials. The client was quite happy, I really hope his girl likes it.

This was a choker made with dyed copper rings and strung with round amethyst beads. I shaped and cut each ring from wire. The beads were made by boiling them till they formed cracks, then dipped in oil dye. #jewlery #necklace #chainmaille #amethyst #rings #beads #choker #copper

This was a fun project, the difficult part was sizing the rings correctly, once I found a method to accurately size the rings, it was a "simple" process of weaving them together. My only other issue was cutting them flush. I have a better method now, but before, I was just using a pair of wire cutters and then trying to sand the ends down, some I didn't do this with.

This ring was an experimental concept using lapis lazul, iron pyrite with originally blue glow pigment set into a hammered tungsten carbide blank, but I didn't mix it correctly, so the glow effect didn't work. The ring still looks nice tho. #jewlery #ring #lapislazul #ironpyrite #art #crafting
