Genuinely curious as to what makes you say that. Care to elaborate?

Defining the very fundamental premise of a discussion may indeed be semantics, but it is vital nonetheless. I am willing to adapt my definition in the moment to better understand the views of others like you here. That is why I am asking. Nonetheless, you do have a right to not engage with me.

Interestingly enough, I agree with some of what you say, but for reasons you most likely disagree with. That being said, there should be a rather interesting watch on the topic that should give you a better view of both my position and why you are right in a manner: youtu.be/aDE1Yvzsdxs

Agreed. In all honesty, you have been the only person to engage in discussion in this thread from what I have seen. It was a pleasure conversing with you, and I wish you all that is best! That aside, if you find any good reading material on these topics, feel free to send them my way!

That matches up reasonably well with my observations in fact. I suspect this has to do with how the European system is built up with a backend free marked (albeit a rather regulated one) with a front-facing government monopoly, while the US is close to the exact opposite on this. Good take!

Please refer to this excellent piece of literature: www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/... But in all seriousness, I suspect that there is a discrepancy in the definition of "for profit" between me and a lot of others here. Can you give me the definition you go by when using that term?

My brother in christ, you are making a claim against monopolies, which everyone with a modicum of rationale agrees is bad in almost all possible cases. This can even be considered a point for my views on the subject, as it shows that regulatory oversight to this extent just destroys good outcomes.

Now tell me exactly, which AI can possibly hold consistent beliefs and put them into responses shorter than 300 chapters? If you wish, you may use GPTzero to verify my human status. Nonetheless, I respect your decision to disengage, and wish you the best in spite of our disagreement. Was a pleasure

Oh no, I have been called a bot! How will I ever recover from this tragedy! But in all seriousness, calling someone a bot just because you disagree with them and refuse to think about their arguments in any meaningful manner is *definiteny* good evidence of then being a bot.

That is very close to what happened during the colonisation of America, surprisingly. Also, I unironically would love to do that. (If this was supposed to be an argument against me, please refer to the Mises Institute and their resources)

Funded highly, highly inefficiently. Let us also not forget that a large proportion of those are simply private corporations funded by grants and loans by the government, which more often than not unfortunately ends up as a type of malinvestment due to how the government manages money.

As the character limit is a bit on the lower end on these types of platforms, then please do take a look at this video which explains in great detail why your points are flawed. Even if you disagree, you will still develop a better understanding to then explain why I'm wrong. youtu.be/aDE1Yvzsdxs

I am talking about the companies innovating the frontier of medicine, the ones actively holding the torch of curiosity against the shadows of ignorance to further the medicine humanity as a whole, a process which is more often than not only desirable when profit exists as motivation.

So, the collapse of a malinvestment bubble which was formed by artificially low interest rates caused by a Keynesian mindset... is a proof against the very school of thought which predicts such collapse due to those exact reasons? Glad to hear that the system closely based on praxeology is a sham!

Have you ever heard of patent evergreening, pay-for-delay agreements, or market exclusivity periods beyond patents? Don't forget that the EU is much closer to a free market in drug production and the benefits trickle all the way down. Calling the US market "free" in all but name is questionable.

Is a charity taking donations at gunpoint for children with leukaemia morally justified? Is you not donating all your leftover money have to feed starving impoverished children then not an act of denying them the absolute human right to food, thus making you an objectively evil and immoral person?
000
Ver @verferas.bsky.social · 04/07/2025
Now, that is one of the reasons why gun rights are a fundamental basis for a moral society. Secondly, killing someone for a perceived wrongdoing when regulations are to blame instead isn't really sane, especially considering that this exact same logic can be used to kill anyone you disagree with.

On a side note, approving of the murder that Luigi committed is rather dubious. That CEO was not to blame for the bad situation per se, as there are a multitude of reasons forcing the situation. Primarily, forced profit of a company's shareholders and artificially inflated pricing due to IP rights.

Also, people dying is bad, but giving more money to the government is definitely not the right solution given that free market solutions have *always* surpassed government ones.

If there is no profit in healthcare, there is no other incentive than altruism for anybody to get into healthcare. Study the Austrian school of economics and you should see how questionable most of what you said is.

Are you aware of how intellectual property rights are abused to artificially increase prices? Are you aware that any welfare done by the state is usually 30%-50% efficient, while private sector solutions are 50%-80%? The only reason why things already are so bad *is* because government intervention.

I stand to correct my reasoning. A greater good argument here is irrelevant on the grounds of a false dichotomy instead. My previous logic was flawed, and I do apologise.

Ver @verferas.bsky.social · 25/06/2025
I recommend you read up on praxeology and the Austrian school of economics and then take a look all of this again. Seriously. Also, a greater good argument is wholly irrelevant here as one increases suffering more than the other. Keep in mind that I am not defending the lifeline thing.

A lot of history was also attempted to be changed by democrats (i.e. calling J6 an insurrection when it was more akin to a childish temper tantrum by the protestors, worth looking into). No matter who does it, I dislike it.

Ver @verferas.bsky.social · 25/06/2025
The democrats have as of late shown horrid levels of economic illiteracy, which will negatively affect everybody involved excluding the wealthy surprisingly enough. The reduction of the queer movement however would be net positive when considering its statistics, though I disagree with their means.

Interestingly enough, I suspect Boelter recently became a left wing radical due to his association with No Kings, perceived portrayals of the democratic party from his list, and internships. He was a nut job for sure, but it is safer to assume this than to humour an elaborate framing of democrats.

Cutting the LGBTQ youth suicide hotline I obviously disagree with, alongside the removal of interesting history (good or bad). I can see their reasoning, but it disagree with most of it. That does not however warrant ad hominem or shying away from the bad economic policy of Mamdani.

A rare exception does not constitute a rule. With that being said, there was no reason for them to marry if they were not in love when you look at their past. This itself acts as evidence against your claims, which you make by using an ecologic fallacy (assuming your claims are even true).

Ver @verferas.bsky.social · 25/06/2025
So, a racist christian nationalist? That logically concludes that he is a white suprematist. Marring her wife is pretty reasonable evidence against such claims, especially considering that there is also reason to assume both love eachother when looking at facial expressions on several occasions.
