the new unique property they gave to axes in this one being 'always does at least 5 damage' feels so much weaker than all the rest. a real 'maybe you don't have to use axes this time but it might eventually lead to enemy axes whittling down your tanks' kind of decision

unfortunately a majority of my learning about things in this world is committed to discovering things like 'a fictionalized(?) version of john goodman claims to have killed mr mxyzptlk in the wake of superman's death in an in universe news magazine'

Upon hearing the tragic news I roamed the city streets aimlessly, heedless of noise, traffic, people. Nothing mattered. After what must have been hours, I found myself in a darkened theatre district. Half a block away was the oddest of sights: it was none other than Mr. Mxzyptlk operating a frank wagon

next to a peep show. He sat on the cart's bun warmer alternating deep sobs with hellish giggles and digging in his pockets for something I'm sure was not there. The nefarious pixie had been unemployed for weeks so I thought I'd throw some business his way. Plus all my aimless roaming had made me hungry.
I ordered two pups with the works and as he plied his trade I pulled out a cheroot and dug for a light. "Hey — got a match?" He looked at me with crazed red eyes and said, "Not since Superman died!" He doubled over in hysterical paroxysms of laughter and a wet hacking cough. "I've been waiting to say that for years."
I would have cuffed the tiny cur, but pity stayed my hand. Instead I gave him just the teensiest shove into the open weenie well and shut the hatch. When I opened it the acidy brine had done the trick. Nothing was left but franks, a yellowy film and a tiny derby. I had rid the Man of steel of an old enemy, unfortunately a little too late.
But darn it, I felt better.
