Totally!! I also looked it up and Tyrian purple dye historically was harvested from snails in Lebanon. So while not an exact one to one match, it could be the Ala Mhigans had something similar going on with the Salt Cellar snails, since their shells at least resemble one of the snails used for dyes.

#AutumnRepost Day 6: First Impressions Jaculus's impression of B'runi is quite a bit different than what she'd have liked when they first met. archiveofourown.org/works/714044...

Reap What You Sow
NobleJanobii
Summary:

Putting back together the pieces that remain from what was shattered at the edge of the universe, B'runi Masna finds herself confronting sides of herself she never wished to acknowledge before. Now, answering a desperate plea from a close family member, B'runi must take up the very weapon that caused it all to fall apart, and is forced to confront a threat who crosses lines that he quickly learns should never have been crossed.

"Predator?" she repeated, tail flicking low to the ground as she appeared to size him up. "I am no predator."

"Is that so?" Jaculus tilted his head, peering at her with amusement. "Do not fool yourself, young stalker. I recognize that look upon your face. I have worn it many a time myself. You feel it, a deep desire to bite down on the jugular of your prey until they stop moving — until their last breath escapes like a whisper and the warmth is replaced with a chilling stiffness. And yet your restraint in this moment tells me, your prey is specific. You hunt not a something, but a someone."

Seasoned Gunbreaker: I hope you don't mind me butting in.

Rostik: I couldn't let you lot have all the fun!

Rostik: Ah! We've met before, that day with Radovan!

Yeah I was able to dig it up. It's from 2018. She doesn't name the specific writer who did it but we know Maehiro is the writer of the ARR post patches and Heavensward so it isn't hard to figure out. Full thing here: thegg.net/interviews/f...

One of the hardest things that a writer might have to deal with is the killing of his or her own characters, (just ask Robert Kirkman, the creator of “The Walking Dead”). So my question to you would be the following. Have you ever become over attached to any of the characters of FFXIV? If so, how do you handle the outcome of a potential death of a character that you like?

Oda:
I might be quite a dry person in that regard, but I don’t have any resistance to killing off characters if I feel that the story development needs it. However, Haurchefant was a character who was widely loved by many players, so I was reticent to have him die and had many discussions with Mr. Yoshida about it, over the process of writing the plot for Heavensward.

Ishikawa:
I see both having a character die and having them come back alive as ways that they can fulfil their role in the story, so I am not particularly resistant to doing it. However, having the characters that I created killed off by other people of the staff makes me wonder if they want to start a vendetta! There were so many examples of that between 2.5 and 3.0, so recently I have been taking on responsibility for the main story.

#AutumnRepost Day 4: Break Though she often finds herself tied up with picking up Wawalago's slack, even Sisipu needs to take a break from time to time! Read all about her catching up with some friends and making a new one in my fic "Friends and Fish". archiveofourown.org/works/60561721

Friends and Fish
NobleJanobii
Summary:

Sisipu takes the day off from research and running the Fisherman's Guild to meet a friend at Camp Bronze Lake.

“Sisipu!” Reyna raised her hand into the air as she called out her friend’s name, waving eagerly to the lalafell.

Sisipu guided the chocobo to Reyna’s side and grinned eagerly. “Reyna! Always a pleasure to see you. I hope the journey from Coerthas wasn’t too bothersome this time around.”

Reyna waved her hand a bit in annoyance. “No more so than usual. The knights still like to put up a bit of a fuss but they know better than to mess with me now. Though, I think my girlfriend might have made them a bit nervous. She’s got an intimidating aura that makes their skin crawl.”

“Girlfriend?” Sisipu leaned over a bit to look past Reyna at the lady behind her. The blonde elezen seemed a bit preoccupied, watching the nearby mamool ja and uragnites with the look of a hunter stalking their prey. Sisipu immediately understood what Reyna meant. “I didn’t realize you’d found a new partner. How long have you two been together?”

Heustienne lunges forth, preparing to strike something with a spear. Reyna quickly reels in a fish.

#AutumnRepost Day 3: In Trouble "B’runi Masna of the Dragons of the Deep, by orders of Admiral Bloefhiswyn, you’re under arrest for transgressions against the Galadion Accord." "Let me go, you shite swimmers!"

B'runi is pinned down to the ground near the ocean fishing docks by a miqo'te in a Yellowjackets universe. Behind her stand several other Yellowjacket guards blocking any avenues of exit.

Skye watches in alarm as B'runi's fishing rod and bucket go flying. Another Yellowjacket stands nearby with her axe hoisted over her shoulders. Foerzagyl and Dryskthota look on in shock.

A yellow carbuncle watches the scene from close by. Another Yellowjacket can be seen arguing with the nearby merchants that staff the fishing docks.

A wider shot of the docks showing all the Yellowjackets blocking the avenues of exit as the civilians react with shock and appall at B'runi's arrest.

Pass it along- please let us see your pfp in its full glory! It's this piece that was done by @/varethane.bsky.social back last year. I adore how B'runi looks in it so I don't see it changing much anytime soon haha.

I managed to do four out of the five DR runs I need for my Bozja relic yesterday and the three full 24 man runs of it I had earlier were my training arc bc my final run of the day was a 7 man where I was giving callouts whilst also tanking as BLM for most of it because the WAR couldn't stay alive.

The Bozjan Phantom targets B'runi Masna. Included is the party list showing she's a Black Mage.
