Real lung destroyer. 30 microns long by 9 microns wide at its greatest extent. Probably thousands of fibers worth of chrysotile in this bundle. Thank god it didn't burst. I would have been here all night.

Getting used to the Jeol tonight. The contrast between this and the Philips is interesting. The Jeol's have a bunch of quality of life improvements that make them easier to use but they also make the scope super finicky. Still worth learning how to use it properly.

Look at this fucker. Chrysotile bundle, 15 micrometers tall by 3 micrometers wide at its greatest breadth. Proper lung destroyer if I've ever seen one.

A glowing green circle dominates the view. Within are a number of irregular dark shapes and then, in the center, an angular mass much like a sliver of broken glass or an icicle. Wide at the top and narrow at the bottom, its primary variance from a shard of glass is its tip, which radiates outward in a small forest of loose ends.

Nice highlight of the morphological diversity of Bundles. Sometimes they are slender, with the fibers running from one end to the other. But sometimes they are convolute, folded up end to end.
