The First Contact War ends with a whimper, rather than a bang, and humanity surrenders to the combined turian and asari forces.

For Commander Delilah Shepard, it's the beginning of the end. Tried, found guilty, and sentenced to slavery, she's sold to Aria T'Loak, where her life as a gladiator starts. When she meets Liara T'Soni, daughter of a powerful Matriarch, Shepard sees an opportunity. Seducing the young asari archaeologist, Delilah finds herself entangled in Citadel politics, assassination attempts, and a budding revolution.

But as she starts to actually fall in love with Liara, Shepard discovers evidence of a vast conspiracy. Together, they must find the truth — or face the devastation of the entire galaxy.
