A Spotify Daylist screenshot, saying I’ve been listening to “Avoidant Bedroom Pop Monday Night”. It says “You listened to journaling and love song on Mondays and night. Try some bedroom pop, avoidant, fresh, cinnamon, alternative, and poetic.”

There’s a monster under my bed.

A tortoiseshell colored cat poking her head out from underneath a bed. She’s upside down, with her face looking upwards and only her ears and face visible under the quilt.

Still incredibly sleep deprived from keeping the wood stove going all day and night for two days thanks to an ice storm power outage, but I at least nearly caught up on Yellowjackets. It was extra immersive to watch it by the fire 😅

As an American, I think a few of these questions got me added to a watch list if I wasn’t already there. www.easydamus.com/character.html

Results of a D&D personality test, reading: “You Are A:
Chaotic Good Human Druid (4th Level)

Alignment:
Chaotic Good- A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society. Chaotic good is the best alignment you can be because it combines a good heart with a free spirit. However, chaotic good can be a dangerous alignment when it disrupts the order of society and punishes those who do well for themselves.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well.
Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Druids- Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druids Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast.”

It was devastating for Alessia with her home city blighted. She went through every stage of grief with it, but she didn’t like the vulnerability of showing her more negative emotions and struggled more by trying to keep it to herself. There was immense guilt, but ultimately still not full regret.

My Rook from Dragon Age the Veilguard, Alessia de Riva, during the dragon attack on Minrathous. It’s night time in the city, and raining, the raindrops rippling in the puddled rainwater in the background. She’s an elf dressed in black leather Antivan Crow armor with a cloak draped over her shoulders, holding the blue lyrium dagger. Her dark brown hair is pulled back into a ponytail, and she is glancing to the side with an angry but determined expression.

venhedis @venhedis.bsky.social · 06/02/2025

Alessia, despite being a Crow, saved Minrathous. It wasn’t a decision to sacrifice one for the other at the time. She sent Davrin with Lucanis, believing as a Warden + monster hunter that he was worth a hundred of her against a blighted dragon. She truly thought it would be fine. (cont.)

It depends, but for general business Lianna usually has Blackwall and Iron Bull (bodyguards for the squishy mage Inquisitor) and either Dorian or Sera. On some of the more important quests, Cassandra joins. (Though occasionally, you just have to love the all mage chaos party.) #IQotD

Alessia’s only fear was the lyrium affecting Harding and hurting her, not her magic. If it was anyone but Harding, she might have worried, but she trusted her too much to think Harding could do anything terrible with it. She encouraged Harding to see it as a gift. #RQotD #veilguardspoilers

A screenshot of Lace Harding from Dragon Age the Veilguard. A dwarf with red hair and freckles, she is kneeling on the rocky ground and holding a blue dagger made from lyrium. Faint glowing blue lines have appeared on her face as a result of touching the lyrium dagger, and she looks dazed.

A screenshot of Lace Harding and my elven Rook, Alessia, from Dragon Age the Veilguard. Harding is laying on the rocky ground, looking up at Alessia who is kneeling next to her and has a protective arm around Harding’s shoulder. Harding has just discovered her magic resulting from touching the blue lyrium dagger.

Surprisingly for Lianna, it was the Hinterlands. It felt like the place where she was doing the most good directly for the people living there (feeding them, making sure they had warm blankets and healing supplies, and protection).

A screenshot from Dragon Age: Inquisition of my Inquisitor, Lianna Trevelyan, in the Hinterlands region. She has dark hair, a pale complexion, and is wearing a brown coat with a red scarf and carrying a mage staff. The surrounding area has a forest, a lake, and docks built behind her on the lake.

Alessia took Neve, because a mage seemed like the best bet heading into a storm of raw magic. She’d known Lace longer and fully trusted her to keep the demons off Varric. That choice ended up setting other events in motion later (the best of which was falling in love with Neve). #RQotD

Going to get a little personal here because this also highlights how much Veilguard & Dragon Age has meant to me. I work in progressive political research in the US, helping progressive campaigns get the info they need to strategize, fundraise, & win. Veilguard came out right before the election.

Depends. During training, mistakes meant severe punishments, so Alessia can be a bit defensive over criticism. If she agrees and feels she did make a mistake, she tends to beat herself up over it but strives to fix it. If she genuinely disagrees with the assessment, she has no problem arguing back.

My (very dumb) little Dragon Age meme for the day—modern day AU with these fools (affectionate) featuring my canon Rook, Alessia.

A meme mocking up the “Who’s watching?” page on Netflix, with profiles for different characters from Dragon Age The Veilguard. My OC Rook, Alessia De Riva, is listed as “person who pays for the account,” Neve Gallus is listed as “girlfriend free pass,” Bellara is listed as “parasite 1,” Taash is listed as “parasite 2,” and an icon for a kids’ account is listed for Manfred

I do feel like on some level, if Veilguard truly is the last Dragon Age game (barring someone else getting the IP one day) I can be content with it? At least it was a hopeful ending. (I am choosing to be willfully ignorant on the executor thing.) At least it wasn’t a Trespasser level cliffhanger.

I’ve definitely got a list. The lead up to and release of Trespasser was magic. I took the next day off work so I could stay up all night playing it. I had been so worried for my Inquisitor and it was the best, most emotional send off to DA:I. The soundtrack was (and still is) absolute perfection.

Lianna Trevelyan left Marian Hawke, though in all honesty it was never fully her choice. There was absolutely no way that Marian was letting anyone else stay for what she (unfairly) considered her mistake in freeing Corypheus. Lianna really admired Hawke, and losing her was devastating.
