I love and draw what breathes in the shadows and causes unease in dreams.

A piece of paper is held between the thumb and forefinger. The question on the paper is: Where do dreams go when we wake up?

1,000 ideas and yet not a single one, but inspiration for 1,000 drawings. Before the first charcoal line is placed, it’s like a riot in my head! ~ Art has no predetermined structure!~ That will be my affirmation for today. #art #charcoaldrawing #darkart

sketchbook page photo with the drawing of a strange insect, the membracis sp. a round treehopper with peculiar shape, like a big crest taking it's whole body.

3d render of woman who looks like a black hole, with a halo and hair made out of burning cosmic matter, and a small spaceship flying towards her. the woman is reaching out towards the spaceship, beckoning it to come closer. behind her the background is a warped image of space

Not every shadow remains in the mirror. Some gaze back – motionless, silent and closer than a gaze should ever be. Original drawing · Charcoal on paper © 2026 [velvetabsence] · All rights reserved. #CharcoalArt #CharcoalDrawing #DarkArt #DarkSurrealism #TraditionalArt #BlackAndWhiteArt

English: A dark, surreal charcoal drawing in shades of black and grey. In an almost black room stands a shadowy, human-like figure with a strikingly light, rounded head and long dark hair, or a dark facial area. The body is only vaguely discernible against the shadows. On the right, a narrow, light area enters the picture, emphasising the stark contrast between light and darkness. The coarse-grained charcoal texture lends the drawing a sombre, eerie atmosphere.

The door stands open – yet the darkness beyond holds its breath. Between dream and Gothic stillness: smoky shadows, fragile light, a nameless mystery. Original drawing · Charcoal on paper © 2026 [velvetabsence] · All rights reserved. #Art #CharcoalDrawing #SurrealArt #GothicArt #DarkArt

Deutsch:

Englisch:
A sombre, surrealist charcoal drawing of an expressionless, human-like figure with a pale face and empty white eyes. The figure stands facing the viewer in an almost black room; behind it is a bright, open door, the light from which partially highlights the body. The coarse-grained charcoal texture and strong light-and-shadow contrasts heighten the eerie atmosphere.
