How does it compare to when Pogacar starts the race?

A stunning, very mature sprint from a neo pro, I enjoyed that very much

I personally do not think of the green jersey as the best sprinter jersey. So I like that someone exceptionally dominant in the sprints is not guaranteed to win it

Know it would not have been a mirror-image deal etc, but pro cycling might have dodged trouble by avoiding the One Cycling project in the wake of the Liv Golf implosion, both shared the same funding source

Guillaume Martin-Guillonet elite lead-out man. I've now really seen it all Shocking how GFDJ somehow peak for the Vuelta each year

Une idée pourquoi l'Afrique du Sud ne l'organise pas/plus, alors que le pays a les infrastructures?

I maintain he should have won Strade Bianche 2023. His suspicious political leaning and poor tactical capabilities made him less likeable over the years, but I will forever remember Marion Rousse's gasp when he started sprinting for the win at RVV 2022

The silver medal in Paris was a red herring. Together with his long time friend and teammate Gaudu, they've been on the decline, partly due to GFDJ's lack of budget and thus slow increase in performances, but also a personal gap in racing intelligence.

He's feeling the adrenaline, judging from his time at T1!

I think the slot won't change as long as summer holidays are in July-August in France. The Tour is then because of that. It requires a broader cultural shift, guaranteeing similar viewership figures

Pogacar calls for cycling calendar overhaul due to extreme heat
Every day in the first week, riders have temperatures of up to 35°C and at times up to 40°C. Sunday's stage was reduced by 30 kilometers.

Very nice relaying Airbnb's ad, as a reminder in case any cycling journalist just forgot, they are the ongoing target of a boycott campaign for keeping listings in occupied Palestinian territories, they're getting the best sportswashing possible in terms of money spent rn

US media outlets are willing to butcher the English language — along with common sense and human decency — to avoid stating a basic fact: Israel is expanding its occupation of southern Lebanon
Twitter/X screenshot of CNN news headline with photo of Israeli soldiers outside Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military has captured the Crasader-era Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon, a site it hasn't held for 26 years, as it expands its incursion deeper into its neighbor's territory.

Watched my first stage of this year's Giro today and I've learned two things: - The race is losing its aura because of poor/silly stage designs, and no regard for the riders themselves; - Paul Penhoët is no longer a sprinter. Incapable of holding a teammate's wheel in the bunch. It's over.

The sexism is two-pronged. The team's communication officer typed a sexist prompt, and it gave a sexist result because GenAI is designed and run by misogynist tech bros.

Really baffled by MvdP still willing to work with Pog. Remco coming back is good for him, he's his only change to bridge back to Pog after the last OK/Paterberg. Unless he's already accepted defeat.

The yearly objectification of women by E3 organisers is a reminder of the same process of dehumanisation by the same country to wreck parts of Africa, which have yet to recover. It's all part of the same patriarchal/colonial logic. Disgusting.

He's been a brilliant domestique for so long. That stage Kuss won in Andorra at the 2021 TdF when he towed a huge breakaway on his own over two cat 1s was a good indicator. Glad he now rides for leaders other than Gaudu who are more likely to deliver.

Costiou took it easy after missing the front group yesterday. Today's stage suits him if the breakaway is strong enough to make it to the finish.
