Operation: I Want A New Handbag, has begun. And if you see some inconsistencies in the weave…no you don’t. Handwoven wool fused to a silk organza backing.

Black and white handwoven houndstooth fabric cut into 2 sides of a crescent shaped handbag pattern waiting for sewing to begin.

One side of pattern pieces has turned over to reveal that they have been fused to silk organza for stability.

Currently weaving a sampler of 8 shaft twills. The houndstooth looks fabulous (obvi) but when I switched to the pinwheel pattern, I could not see them until I stepped back. Fun!

Had quite the scare when a warp yarn broke, but, was able to fix it with just a few inches sacrificed. Really falling in love with this vintage LeClerc 16” Dorothy 4 shaft portable table loom!! But it makes me want more shafts…
