Got inspired by siphonophores...

A navy-colored eldritch creature dappled with stars that looks like a worm with many cyan eyes all over its body, sapphire tentacles on what looks like its ventral side and gilded golden curls and details on the dorsal side; it's wrapping around a glowing isocahedron trapping the silhouette of a flying fish.

A little preview of what I contributed to @pokeplatezine.bsky.social ! It's been lots of fun to work on, look forward to a bunch of cute illustrations and delicious recipes !

A preview template; on the upper left corner there's written "Poképlate". The central illustration, in the shape of a berry, shows the face of a grinning Sableye. All of these are on a light background featuring faded berries and red stars assorted to the text color. On the bottom of the picture is a caption saying "Artist Preview !" on a green flannel pattern.

I wanted to try out some brushes so I threw this together

A (very) bearded vulture flies across a mountainous landscape with a vibrant blue sky behind it; the sun seems to be behind the point of view, and a red moon rises from beyond the clouds.

Made a thumbnail for my Pokemon Mystery Dungeon playthrough.

A Chikorita, a Pikachu and a Bronzor, all wearing sky blue scarves, are standing on the edge of a cliff and looking up at the skies clearing behind the point of view. Still beneath the rain clouds in the background are a forest and some distant mountain range almost hidden in the mist.

One of my friends is going to run a Dragon Heist campaign in october, I got so excited I drew the entire team ! From left to right: Mercury the artificer, Peregrine the paladin of Sune, Garrick the warlock, Pier the rogue and Sasha the cleric of Savras.

A team of adventurers in front of a background of orange clouds. From left to right: an artificer wearing goggles and a green scarf about to throw a lit molotov cocktail, a paladin in pink and red hues holding up a red rose while winking, a sad old man warlock in a long purple coat with his pet black rat on his shoulder, a rogue who seems to have been carved out of marble wearing dark clothes, and a cleric wearing yellow robes with blue sleeves aiing with a crossbow.

Demaraxes ! One of my favorite D&D creatures from Planescape, they're slow and stupid but such a cool encounter since they're harmless (until you got spell crystals on your person...)

Three demaraxes, sort of crocodilian reptiles with gharial snouts and crystals all over their bodies; the green colored one is upright scratching its chin, the fire-colored one is on all fours absorbing a similarly colored crystal, and the last one is mostly brown with a blue upright tail kept up to intimidate the viewer and rainbow crystals.

Tried out some new brushes on that one; loved the sketch so much I had to finish it. I think it's surprisingly fitting how some bards have Savras as a patron, tempted to make that sibyl an actual character.

A bard with fluffy brown hair and a third eye tattooed on her forehead holds a barbiton lyre, looking strained from battle and slightly bloody. She still stands ready to cast a spell in front of sunset-colored skies.

Been looking through all my D&D stuff again (specifically the Forgotten Realms) recently so here's my favorite god, Savras.

An older man with a shining third eye, a short dark beard and wearing a brown hood and robes gazes into a crystal ball from his chair in front of a library full of books. The pose and composition is a reference to the "Pondering my Orb" meme.

Rainworld Art Month, days 16 to 20 Precipice, The Chieftain, Moon, Drainage System and Scavenger Chieftain Mask #RWArtMonth #Rainworld

The picture is divided in three parts on top of eachother; above, in sunset orange colors, the Artificer is gazing at the ruins of the Precipice from a pole ladder while a vulture flies into the skies. In the middle, with pink and blue tones, Moon is recieving a neuron from someone that's out of view. And below, mostly in brown and green, monk is offering an emerald pearl to a scavenger in the drainage system while others of its kin watch from afar.

Rainworld Art Month, days 11 to 15 Sky Islands, New Lizards, GSB, The Nomad and Mushrooms #RWArtMonth #Rainworld

A fairy lizard looks at mushrooms, one of which lacks its cap and a good part of its stalk, from some perches in the Sky Islands. In the backgrounds, the spires of the Chimney Canopy can be seen, at the edge of which a green slugcat (implied to be Saint) can be seen gazing at what's beyond. A ghostly, see-through ghost of Five Pebbles in his prime stands above the ruins of the present.

Rainworld Art Month, days 6 to 10 Jellyfish, Expedition, The Rot, Echoes and Gourmand #RWArtMonth #Rainworld

The Gourmand is lying down on ruins in the Rot, glowing in iridescent colors and playing or having just crafted a jellyfish. An Echo looks at it from above with a gentle glow. The scene is framed with the remains of Five Pebbles, lethargic rot tentacles, tubes and pipes falling apart, and smoke rising from the rubble.

Rainworld Art Month, days 1 to 5 Noodle Flies, Swim, Pole Plants, Dropwigs and Looks to the Moon (seen from outside...) #RWArtMonth #Rainworld

A dropwig having successfully ambushed a baby noodle fly falls in the water as the adult noodle fly readies to skewer it. In a corner, spearmaster holding a pearl is about to grab onto a pole plant, distracted by the scene. And behind it all, looming over everything in the background, stands Looks to the Moon's superstructure, with only two of her legs visible standing above the clouds.

Beekeeper that hunts fiends 🐝

Ewztia, a medieval beekeeper with a straw mask, walks with a skep in her arms and a wooden staff on her back. Around her are solid color pictures of her in various poses: guiding a donkey carrying her wares, pulling out a dart from her side and pinning the shooter to the wall while lava comes out from her wounds and under her mask, and eating with her hood and mask off but a bird flies between the viewer and her face.
Aside from a picture of a honey pot and wax pellets, there's also a picture of her bust seen from the back without her uniform, showing burn scars on her arms from the radiant consumption.

Another album cover for a friend !

The hunter, a red slugcat, swims up towards the surface light while holding a spear and the green neuron fly. In the darkness below it swirl a leviathan and several salamanders, who frame the scene around their prey.

Forgot to post this here but I recently went through top surgery so things will be slower for now; here's some art from last year while I recover !

A smiling, cube-headed but otherwise humanoid character climbs in tree branches as the sunbeams shine behind him. He's wearing baggy grey pants held by a red belt and is shirtless.

Tried out some new things with that one !

A blue creature that looks like a cross between a velvet worm and a planaria curls on its back, facing the viewer. Its face is taken up by a dark, round cracked screen from which emanates a soft blue glow.
Behind (and connected to) it is a mess of robotic wires and tubes in which two similar creatures obscured by darkness are entangled.

"While it could use its psychic abilities in battle, this Pokémon prefers to swing its powerful arms around to beat opponents into submission."

A shiny reuniclus winding up to punch the viewer; its blue body partially reflecting the pink and yellow dust clouds behind it, some of said reflections taking on the shape of stars. The space background has some glitch effects.

Me when we both started out weak but I underwent a journey parallel to yours, so we now meet again near the end of the story.

Whimsun and Whimsalot, bug-like monsters from Undertale, stand next to eachother in front of an abstract blue background. Whimsun is crying while holding its hands up in a pleading gesture, while Whimsalot holds its weapon horizontally in front of it with one hands and summons a butterfly with the other.

Tramontane, my Rainworld mod, is nearing 50% completion. Here's the thumbnail art ! I spent more than a week on it.

The Stormchaser, a gliding slugcat with radioactive green eyes and tailtip, flees from a flock of vultures as green lightning and sparks flashe in the clouds around them. A vulture on the foreground almost brushes its beak against the Stormchaser's tail, wrapping the whole scene with its wings.

Rainworld art month drawings I forgot to post: Fire Egg, Taming, Crafting and Saint. Wasn't happy at all with them tbh.

Gourmand, a fat slugcat, holding up a fire egg to its face while facing the viewer. Its face can be seen through the orange ball of fire.

A slugcat and a lizard spinning around eachother in gusts of blue and green. The slugcat is holding a noodlefly and the lizard is looking intently at it while licking its lips.

The Gourmand holding a fire egg and a karma flower. Next to it glows a blue singularity bomb.

The Saint, a furry green slugcat with closed eyes, on a cold-colored abstract background. Its long tongue spins around its body, while it holds a lantern below itself in its hands.

Been neglecting this site, I'm burning out a bit hence why I'm mostly focusing on my mod. Here are the few rainworld art month drawings I did, in order: Rivulet, Submerged Superstructure, Chimney Canopy and Fire Spear !

The Rivulet from Rainworld, a blue slugcat with pink gills and eyes. It curves and coils as if swimming in dark waters.

The survivor, a white slugcat, is swimming away wearing Moon's cloak and holding a bubble plant. The picture is framed by an eel lizard catching an aquapede (a water centipede), making Moon's silhouette with the negative space.

Various creatures from Chimney Canopy, including scavengers, lizards, noodle flies and a king vulture, chase the slugcat; it and their eyes are white on a predominantly golden, brown and tan piece.

An angry fire bug in the lava hell that is Rubicon launches the spears on its back towards the viewer.

Two blue slugcats are fighting the Night Terror, a huge black centipede. One of them, the Photomaniac, on the left foreground is a dark navy blue with a white scar on its stomach. It holds up an electric spear and is cheering for its lighter-colored sibling, the Beacon, throwing one of the flashbangs around its neck at the centipede. The flashbang's explosion has rays like a star.

Drew dragonpropaganda's sona on tumblr !

A dragon lich with four arms and green translucent wings flies into a sunset; its body is predominantly brown with a green underside and bony details such as a bare skull with ram horns and a spiked tail. Its dark hair runs from its forehead to the tip of its tail, and fabric is haphazardly wrapped around its neck and limbs.
It looks back at the viewer from the corner of two of its eyes on the side of its face as icy breath escapes its jaws.

Got an ask on tumblr about those "cell" iterators...

Spearmaster, with the mark of communication, is lying down on an orange surface with wall mycelia growing on it. It's staring up towards the void.
An overseer pops out of the surface as Seven Red Suns asks "Did something catch your attention ?"
The overseer goes to Spearmaster's side to see what it's looking at; from that angle, Spearmaster's chest scars can be seen.
"Ah..."

"Messenger, I keep on forgetting-"
Seven Red Sun's puppet rises out, gazing at the slugcat who looks back at them with delight. The overseer also looks on.
"-our differences in scale..."
The iterator pets its head with both hands.

Seven Red Suns holds spearmaster in their puppet's arms, looking from the gigantic orange surface that is their main body towards the void above lit up in blue by scan lines, their processes and halo.
Below the surface, inspectors and coral neurons can faintly be seen.
"You're right, that's quite a view."

So about those giant cell iterators...

Following the iterators without metal idea, Five Pebbles as a cell meets Monk. He's so big he dwarfs it while talking to it.
"The last one I gave some help and some general directions."
The feelers on the cell's surface reach out to the slugcat as a puppet comes out to face it.
"I will do the same for you."
Monk is now floating in front of Pebbles' puppet, just above his surface and surrounded by overseers.

A collab with sevenrs on tumblr ! I did the upper half with monk and Five Pebbles. It was to illustrate a theory I had that reincarnation in Rainworld could be non-linear on a timeline; for example, Monk could be the reincarnation of Five Pebbles given the parallels in their story...

A scene of Five Pebble's can towering above his sister's, Looks to the Moon. His silhouette can be seen turning away from her, almost fading in the sky, while she sits on the foreground staring straight ahead. The water she sits in seems to fade away into the void sea at the bottom.

Monk is seen jumping after and reaching out to its falling sibling Survivor in the middle, the tenth karma symbol shining behind them as rot reaches out from Five Pebble's wires to the both of them.

What if iterators, but without the metal parts...

Two giant cells, one yellow (Looks to the Moon) and the other blue (Five Pebbles) are communicating through their tendrils as Rivulet watches, dwarfed by their sheer size.
Most notably, Five Pebble's shape is distorded and falling apart, damaged by the rot whose cysts show up even on his surface.

Spore 2008 my beloved, here's my very first creature I took from cell to space stage. They're pacifist omnivores that count on their cute looks to not get obliterated.

4 stages of a spore creature through time on a colorful starry nebula background; at the bottom is the cell stage, colored in blue and yellow with a proboscis, fins and a shiny abdomen like fireflies. In the next stage above it, it gains legs and the fins are replaced with cicada wings. The stage after, it now has a beak, feathers, horns and arms, and the wings become more like a butterfly's with eye spots.
In the final stage, it becomes even more colorful with contrasting pink, blue and yellow hues; it's arms and legs become insect-like and it's wings and head more birdlike. It still has the shiny firefly abdomen.

A constellation of its specie can be seen in the background near it.

My other slugcat oc, though this one isn't really meant to be a mod, it's just the colors I use in co-op !

The Anomaly, benign tumor. A black ferret-like creature with elongated limbs, wall mycelia growing on its body (they look like black tendrils with blue tips) and intense blue eyes.

On the right side, it is drawn in different poses to illustrate some captions:
- Stretching like a cat, eyes closed. "Eyes rarely blink"
- Standing, with a leg sticking out. "Exaggerated slugcat proportions"
- Getting up. "Slugcats find it eerie"
- Sitting up, with a yellow overseer at its side looking confused. "Tendrils can connect !"
- Curling up with no caption.

On the left side, it's birth is described. A single scrambled iterator cell, around which grow wall mycelia that arrange itself in the shape of an animal over the course of 4 pictures. "Scars do not bleed, but individual mycelia can be seen stitching them closed instead !"
At the end: "If the core cells are too damaged, it dies."
