I mean if you take adhd meds you also get the double whammy of the hunger signal itself getting suppressed. Fixed meal time is smart in either case! And yeah for me I just get way more anxious. Sometimes I can tell it's hunger but I think it has to be bad for that

just learned that it is theorized that a similar mechanism causes ppl with ADHD to tend towards lower interoception (registering your body's signals). Simply put, the brain doesn't connect the cue (e.g. hunger) as strongly with the required action (eating) because the reward is missing (dopamine)

one thing that helps me is asking myself if what I wrote is an actual action I can do like "GP" isnt a thing but "call GP about X (phone number)" is something I can act on immediately

oh and I do the same thing with task lists one thing that helps is that I make myself rewrite my tasks each day and really think about whether its something I will actually end up doing or if theres a smaller step first

yeah I guess the personalization for me come in how I define each category. I can also do two tasks in one category for SOME instead of two diff categories etc etc the big advantage for me is that I have more trouble telling myself I did "nothing" and that it incentivizes variety

I've been using a system like this kind of for a year now and that I stuck to it is already a success lol there's some more intricacies (bc ofc I need it to be semi complicated) but just dividing things into categories and trying to move SOME forward each day helps

kinda drives me nuts that I haven't seen the point made yet that bluesky is comparatively new and thus will have a higher influx of people who then might decide Its Not For Them. 1000 people try it, 500 stay - 500 more users, but a huge drop in active monthly users 🤷
