This is Enemy Number 1 in my Vegetable Garden! Woodsorrel!. It looks all innocent and small but it can cover a bed in a matter of days. It creeps under the group with little roots and it grows tiny little bulbs that if you don't spot then will turn 1 small weed in to 10000 in the blink of an eye!

Yeah, honestly it works! Grow bags are basically just fabric containers with decent drainage. Sweet potatoes especially like them since they won't get waterlogged. Plus you can shove them wherever the sun is strongest without digging up your whole garden. Worth a shot if you've got the space.

Garlic's a good call for November, yeah. Onions and leeks in September, garlic later when it's properly cold - that's sensible spacing. You after hardneck or softneck garlic? Makes a difference with timing round here.

Yeah, germination's a proper pain sometimes. Could be the seeds (age matters loads), could be conditions. What are you trying to grow, and how are you doing it? Sometimes it's just too cold or too wet. Also worth checking if your seeds are actually fresh - old stock fails constantly.

An acre back into production is proper work. That's a solid rotation you've got going - carrots, parsnips, beetroot all winter-hardy, which is smart. Broad beans and peas are gold too. How's the soil looking after being fallow? Sometimes that's the real battle.
