Our stall at Electric Picnic was up and running, and what a weekend it was! Huge thanks to all the VSI volunteers for taking care of the stall, it looked fantastic!💚 We had LOTS going on: our Spin-the-Wheel Quiz gave out prizes for correct answers to questions about veganism and the environment.🌱

We've now started work on our new Restaurant Campaign! Over the next few months, our team is planning to reach out to hundreds of restaurants all over Ireland that don't currently cater for vegans, encouraging them to put vegan options on their menus. 🍴🌱

Did you know that it’s much cheaper and more cost-effective to buy groceries as a vegan? There is a myth that eating vegan food costs more. When people say vegan food is expensive, it is worth checking the numbers. 🧾

The Irish Anti-Vivisection Society (IAVS) has shared new official figures that show that more than 112,000 animals were used in experiments in Ireland in 2024, an increase compared with 2023. Most were mice, but guinea pigs, pigs, dogs, horses, goats and others were also used. 🐁🐖🐕🐎🐐🐾💔

📊 New Survey of the Irish Population's Eating Habits 🌱 3% of people are either vegan or plant-based. 👥 Among the 25–34 age group, this figure rises to 6%. 🥕 7% of people are vegetarian. The survey was commissioned by the VSI and carried out by Amárach Research.
