It's ok. There are always plenty of bunnies! This one thinks you can like commas to indicate phrasing, or commas to indicate context, or both and it's fine. lol
On a cream fabrib background with a diamond stitch pattern sits a brown, long-haired angora rabbit kit. Their eyes are closed, (or possibly just covered up by fluff), and their ears lop over slightly at the tips. They are essentially the world's moldiest and most adorable potato. With ears.

Evinrood. So named for her outboard-like instapurr upon learning that her new home was full of petting. (She climbed my arm, motorboating away, out of the carrier that the feral rescue brought her in). She is now 2 weeks older than this, so of course, Much bigger! (Just ask her.)

Gods come in every color, flavor, texture and temperament, like the people who name them. Grief though, now that is a universal truth. #poetry #poem #gaza #israel #war #peace
It is dark in Gaza

and we are playing cards in Pittsburgh where we
check our phones for news each hour like
birds back to feeders full of antifreeze and grief.

It is dark in Gaza now while we
play cards, gin rummy, because
war is a game for children who
believe that luck makes them
heroes and misfortune is always
deserved when they win.It is dark in Gaza today because -
can anyone say?
Is it the men who went rampaging,
blood in the streets,
cries of the women and children?
or is it the bombs falling?

It is dark in Gaza,
and we are playing cards and talking
about Gaza, and our friends who have
family there, and family in Israel and
all in a world where
prophets have armies,
ravening hordes, both sides,
every god alike, bloodstained hands
against the huddled throngs. It is dark in Gaza.
No, that's a lie, it is
Blazing there, every fire,
every flare, the scream of
phosphorous like the screams of
women and children spreading like oilslick,
like the wings of bombers,
like the wings of brutal men,
and death comes bright as sunlight.

We are playing cards in Pittsburgh.
They are calling it “dark” in Gaza.
Soldiers are marching and we are watching
ourselves unstuck in time again.
I wonder who will be left to write the story of this city?

Voices like birds against cruel windowpanes,
we speak of the dying, we speak of the dead,
and dark comes to Gaza.

Very cool series I'm presenting for this month! Maleni Chaitoo, who was our DASL and one of our Narrators on Words of the Prophets, will be there as well to take questions.
Image is a flyer with two photos on either side of a central collage. The first photo shows Vayl, (see bio for desc), the collage depicts a woman with her arms spread to the sky, and the second photo is of Maleni Chaitoo, a brown-skinned, black-haired woman looking into the camera.

Really psyched to be back at #Poetry mics doing features! This is my first after a little vacation taken somewhat involuntarily after the play finished up and I keeled over. ;) I'm including the Bio at the bottom of the flyer in the comments below, since it wouldn't fit in alt-text. :)
Flyer includes text and images of map fragments and other designs. Vayl's Bio appears at the bottom, but text would not fit here. Please see post body and comments.

Photo at bottom left is of Vayl Larkin's face and neck. They are a nonbinary trans person with curley, fuschia hair, green glasses, and a wide smile. They are wearing a buttoned shirt with a vest.
