Where you aaim the virtual image of the sun (red dot), the mirror aims the light for precise signaling. The front and back caps are canned food lids. 120

The mirror has also window film on its back to prevent shards from falling out, should the mirror break. The mirror front can also be protected with film. 110

Most signal mirrors are made from polycarbonate to be shatterproof, but they spread the light too much and unevenly. My mirror is a precision instrument and it contains a retroflective aiming device for precise signaling. More in the reply. 150

I laminated the film for protection and put and industrial grade pressure-sensitive adhesive on the back. Then I cut out the adhesive labels. The labels are water and chemically resistant and don't peel on their own. 010
