I know AI is the Monster in the Woods, but AI art has the same boring-ass style *AND IT ISN'T SIGNED*. Artists sign their work, and if a scammer signs AI work they're found out and rightly pilloried. I knew art majors in college, and forgive me, but it also felt like they were in a *cult*. A cult that required almost slavish devotion to a leader, a fat wallet for the entry costs that *always* needed more money, and a community that pulled out the love-bombing when someone wanted to leave.

Why am I lumping Zoomers and Boomers? Critical Thinking. Boomers are too old, and Zoomers and Alphas aren't really taught it anymore and tend to take things at face value, and moral equivalency isn't a fallacy because students aren't taught those anymore. There are the laughably obvious AI uses that Zoomers and Boomers buy wholecloth, and the real human-made stuff that tweaks someone's nose so it *must* be AI-made

Why do I bring any of this up? I sent to SUNY Oswego for a BA in English: Writing Arts (They didn't call it creative writing yet), then to Goddard (which no longer exists) for an MFA in Speculative Fiction that I will still be paying off long after I'm dead. I provided writing samples, essays...

One of my first editors told me to use more of them, because I was overusing commas and parentheses for asides. I overused just, really, and very until my editor highlighted every use in a bright color when I said "I don't use them THAT much." Humbling and necessary when I saw all that fuchsia.
