Anyone got any tips for mastering the art of not giving a fuck? 👀

In progress shot of me blocking in this clay for the silicone pour later #maskmaking #art #moldmaking

Vantastrid’s work in progress on the clay block in for her mask mold. You can see the top shell of the mold to the left side. The camera view is over the shoulder so you can see the subject matter and her hands and tools.

A little process video on plastic welding together pieces of my mold I designed and printed. #maskmaking #masks #art

I realized the one I made had too little space inside for silicone so I had to redesign and reprint. After post processing it will be ready for a pour #maskmaking #masks #art

The picture shows 3 objects, vantastrid’s Observer mask on the bottom, and above is two 3D printed matrix molds. The one on the left is vantastrid’s first attempt which left too little space for silicone so she redesigned it and the mold on the right is the result which is much larger.

Designed a mold in 3D for my mask and my brain is fried 💀 going to print it out and see what happens

Almost ready to mold the Observer mask #art #masks

Vantastrid showing progress on her observer mask, almost ready to mold. 2 picture panels on the bottom are close ups of the mask showing detail around the eyes, nose, lips. The top picture is her holding up the mask over her face, looking down at the camera.

Did the first sanding pass on my Observer mask resin print, then rinsed it off so I could see under the dust. So excited 😁

No Kings No Tyrants No Fascists #art #darkart

Art of a dark figure wearing a cloak to conceal their snake-like appearance under their garb. They have three upside down stars on their cloak resembling a certain party, a missing heart, a disingenuous cross at their neck, their outstretched left hand, and their right hand making a gesture that could resemble many things. A red light shines down from above, and a halo appears behind them as they try to appear holy.

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears.

Making a sanding box to contain all the resin dust I don’t want in the air

Vantastrid holding out her gloves arm towards a bin to gauge where to make the arm holes

Plastic cut in a pizza fashion to make a hole in the bin

Vantastrid holding up her gloved hands inside the bin, making a heart shape

Vantastrid stretching her hand out in the bin to test mobility inside, looking good!

First non test print did not go well, but then made some adjustments (probably overboard lol), and the second one came out great! Now I have to clean this up and get it ready to mold. #art #3Dsculpt #3Dprint

Vantastrid’s first resin mask print resulted in failure as the base was separating from the build plate.

Vantastrid comparing the first failed print to the next successful one on the build plate

Looks like test print turned out okay, I’m a dummy for not washing them good enough lol but now I know. One step closer to starting a mask print 🎭

Test resin print from vantastrid’s new machine.

Guys I am SCARED 😂 I’ve never used a resin printer before, here we go

Plastic welded together. Not perfect, but functional! ✨ Now I can finish setting up

Two halves of vantastrid’s 3D printed ventilation adapter plastic welded together. Circular input to rectangular output.

It fits ✨ now I must join the pieces together

I got a resin printer so I can make more detailed molds and casts. Currently printing a vent adapter for it on my filament printer 🫡 safety first

“Ever wonder what it’s like to drown?” A villain so good, I still think about years later. #art #silco #arcane #fanart

I think he just wants to talk 🔪 #darkart #horror

Vantastrid’s artwork of a demonic looking creature turning its head towards the viewer and locking eyes. The background is a shade of red, the creature is darker, with horns sticking out of its eyes and forehead, spikes riddling the rest of its head and spine. His mouth is open, unable to close his lips, and baring his teeth.

I upgraded my iPad so performance is better for sculpting, but I decided to try a glass matte screen protector instead of my old one and that was a mistake 🫠 I don’t draw super fast and because there is a gap between the pen and screen, it does dumb wiggly lines sometimes.

She gazes at her hand, an all-seeing eye refracting the vision of blood. Unable to remember where it came from, or whose blood it belongs to, all she can do is stare as she recalls the echoes of someone’s voice screaming “monster”. #darkart #horror #monster

A dark ink art by vantastrid. A female creature, clad in green, looks at the blood on her hand located over the pupil of a floating eye. She looks strange and alien with her long pointed nose and has almost an armor plate look to the top of her head.

If anyone’s curious how I remove seam lines that appear sometimes in my sculpted prints: 1. Smear bondo (or wood filler) in the crack 2. Sand 3. Spray filler primer 4. Sand again 5. Poof, gone P.s. super important to always wear safety gear, more description in alt text.
