🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

so yeah no wonder socializing is the most important thing in life to me lol

000 0

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

in high school i had a really active social life my parents hated it so they forced me to move away for college i didn't have a social life from when i started college in 2015 til i gained one again during pride 2023 that's eight goddamn years of loneliness

100 0

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

leaving college out of the equation because i literally was just a total shut-in loner and had zero friends for the entirety of that

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

idk why my brain always dwells on the past so much. that shit is not important i guess it would kinda vindicate my transition tho if somebody who knew me ages ago didn't recognize me xD

100 0

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

i know for sure at least one or two or a few people i used to know in like middle or high school made it up to seattle i wonder if we'll ever bump into each other i don't think they'd recognize me

100 0

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

pre-transition vanta was kinda lowkey a dick

100 0

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

so i may as well be dead to everyone who knew me before i transitioned i'm okay with that

you know what's fucking strange? i just remembered hearing about how that friend's "dad" actually came out as a trans woman years later so. the stereotype persists

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

yeah i fuckin bet i didn't wanna use linux for five years after attempting to run ubuntu in 2010

110 0

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

actually no i did know about linux before that since middle school a friend's dad was really into it and gave me an ubuntu CD and i remember trying to get that working on my laptop in like 2010 but i wasn't really a regular linux USER until 2015 lol

110 0

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

would you believe me if i told you i became a transgender linux user because of Mr. Robot lmao like. that's how i learned about linux. it came out the year i graduated high school so also it's the reason i started questioning my gender identity! because there's a trans character and yeah

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

but you can watch the first five minute scene and that's a pretty good trailer for the show by the end you'll know for sure if Mr. Robot is for you or not, and if you wanna keep watching

000 0

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

if you're not sure if Mr. Robot is right for you there's not really a good trailer for the show and i recommend highly against looking it up if you haven't seen it anyway because there are SPOILERS EVERYWHERE

not shitting on Hackers (1995) tho i love that movie

100 0

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

and yeah i'll say it again louder for the people in the back ALL THE TECH AND HACKING IN MR. ROBOT IS ACCURATE there's no Hackers (1995) CGI shit. they actually researched everything down to the letter and replicated it faithfully

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

oh i see they don't embed properly with the crossposter i have to actually paste a link into the bluesky ui to get it to generate a preview for the post fuck lmao that's so jank what the hell

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

Mr. Robot is unqiue because it started as a movie originally but the dude who wrote and directed the whole thing just kept writing until it was television-length so the whole show was written in advance and it SHOWS

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

hands down my favorite television series of all time more akin in quality to one long movie than a tv show really

🌈 vanta rainbow black 🌈 @vantablack.bsky.social · 17h

every time i convince someone to let me show them Mr. Robot whether the hook is the accuracy of all the hacking stuff or the way they portray mental illness or just wanting a cyberpunk story set in the modern era i always notice something new i hadn't before. that show is phenomenal

Great interview with @vantablack about Fedipact, the agreement to not federate with Threads. Vanta talks about the big reasons people signed back in '23 -- EEE, poor moderation. Even more relevant today! radiostudent.si/druzba/tehno-klisti… #fedipact #Threads
