A plea for more dialogue between traditional philology and DH. Yes, DH researchers need to do a better job of explaining our methods, tools and their uses outside our bubble. But openness has to go both ways. We also need a willingness to talk to us before judging what technology can and cannot do.

Struck by colleagues' work at this conf re use of computational tools, but still seems they're using texts already available, which are primarily canonical -- bc they are readily available in digital forms #dh tools are cool, but are we making a diff in DH by using them only on canonical materials?
