I asked ChatGPT to transcribe this manuscript. When it produces a transcription, it looks like magic watching the words unfold. But it was such a shitty job when you look closer that it is just not helpful. It’s the illusion of magically quick answers that draws people in. Still, an illusion though.

Such a great webinar! So lucky I was there to share our insights to illuminate a more engaged, invigorated, and truly open-inquiry future for witchcraft studies! I can’t wait to see what new, exciting research will continue to unfold. Thanks @pennpress.bsky.social and everyone who joined us today 🥰

Little (witchcraft and environmental history), Abigail Hill (empathy as method in colonial American witch-trial records), Jonathan Durrant (historians and activists collaborating on witch-trial memorials), Vanessa Rodrigues Barcelos (early modern women who “talked back” to demonologists), Maryse Simon (critique of Mona Chollet’s In Defense of Witches), and Rochelle Rojas (academic politics shaping feminist witchcraft scholarship).
