Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 05/10/2026The original is better overall and complete. The new one is incomplete but has shiny new animation. I'd recommend the original unless you really need modern animation, but like I said the new one is only at what in the original is episode 44 or so out of 110... 140
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I mean even that is a xenophobic dogwhistle complaining that immigrants/foreign students are getting those degrees instead of "Americans." 100
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 04/10/2026For the same reason conservative politicians send their children to Ivy League schools while attacking higher education and telling everyone else to go into the trades. 131
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 04/10/2026She is a Republican State Senator. She was probably told she would be primaried or have campaign money withheld. 2122
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 04/10/2026She's a Texas politician in her own right - she's a State Senator. She was probably told if she didn't do this she'd be primaried and/or campaign funds withheld for her. 130
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 26/09/2026The guys will probably take it easy and not go 100% cause no one wants to get hurt and the rosters are basically set. 120
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Why are the loans being negotiated so soon? Is it not like a 30 year mortgage? 110
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 20/09/2026No one is claiming Danforth on waivers. Zucker injury let's them keep Kozak up for now, and I don't see him getting claimed either. 001
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Unfortunately, what the actual military believes doesn't matter as long as the dear leader believes it. 080
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 19/09/2026US = Trump Admin. You don't think based on all available evidence that Trump/Hegseth delusionally think they are winning the conflict? 160
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Well it's a good thing we have a smart, emphatic, and energetic Federal Government to spearhead this! /s 1121
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Especially since the one thing we've learned in this war is how important looking tough is. NO NERDS or GIRLS allowed! 030
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 14/09/2026TACO here takes two to tango. On other things he could just change his mind unilaterally. Here, Iran and Saudi Arabia and others have a huge say in what happens. He can't just declare victory and leave. 1121
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Well, like a lot of technological advances the idea was that it mechanized a process and thus required less labor... except it also made it way more profitable and required more labor to make more cotton. 170
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Not sure if this is the right spot for a Listener Question but: How secret was Operation Barbarossa? I'm listening to your last few series of episodes on Greece, Crete, and now the war at sea and over and over German plans are being changed to account for Barbarossa. How close of a secret was it? 110
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Waddaya mean racists don't understand something and are making ill-founded assumptions?!? 010
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Well, with this administration I'm actually a little worried about Putinesque Little Green Men doing a Donbass. 070
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Idk man, looking at the list it might have been number 1 for me. 130
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 27/08/2026The Middle Ground is such a great refocusing of Native American/Early Colonial history. 010
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 26/08/2026I assume getting Fox to bring back the migrant caravans and Trans athletes stories. 010
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 06/08/2026There is a story in a book on D-Day from the perspective of a German POW I read once - the German knew they were doomed when the US Army had him and the other prisoners travel by truck to the prison camps -ie the US had so many trucks and gas they could waste it on POWs. Germans made their POW walk. 010
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Completely anecdotal but I was on a trip to Glacier and Yellowstone which required a lot of driving through rural Montana... I saw ZERO Trump signs, flags, hats, ect. There was election stuff up for the Senate races and more local stuff, but no visible Trump stuff. 160
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 29/07/2026It's apparently like "be a goldfish" - forget what happened on the play before and get ready for the next snap... I think it sounds like we are encouraging fumbles. 110

Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 22/07/2026By the way I agree with you! One of the best changes we could make would be setting a schedule of terms expiring every few years for the SCOTUS and other courts. 020
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 22/07/2026The Senate was designed to be the chamber of the states in Congress. Overall the Senate is very elitist but the FF would still have looked aghast at the idea of the world's richest man having a personal judge and jurisdiction at his beck and call. 3110
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 22/07/2026If it's shorter than... idk 10 years that judge is still thinking about what they need to do to be reappointed when his term is up... if it was much longer, people back then died by 70 on average so death wasn't that far off on average. The average length of time has been going up in recent years. 120
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 22/07/2026The catch here is that once again the FF were overly optimistic that there wouldn't be bureaucratic capture by elites... they also thought Separation of Powers and Checks and Balances would ensure only competent, well meaning people got appointed and approved. 2261
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 22/07/2026The idea of the Founding Fathers was that it would remove influences on Judges - they wouldn't be beholden to either Presidents, Governors, Congress, State Legislatures, or even the people in how they rule. Instead, they'd rule their conscience and what they thought was best. 2210
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 22/07/2026Dallas has ~31.35m to play with for an extension in January from his contract, Seguin's and a cap jump. He is gonna make so much bank. Only flaw is the 8 years is done so he can only do 7 years then. 000
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 21/07/2026Don't need all of them to be good. 1/3 good, 1/3 *at the level they are already at*, and 1 can struggle and return to the AHL and we'd be OK. 100
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 05/07/2026Yes. This is an image from the HBO Miniseries John Adams in which he played John Adams. It's very good. 120
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 02/07/2026Can you ask the Sabres why they don't make following them more accessible? 000
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 02/07/2026It means the Index (500 stocks) is going up even though a majority of the stocks are going down... which means the entire Index is being carried by just a few stocks. So probably not good. 120
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 01/07/2026What do negative numbers on this chart indicate? Manufacturing plants being idled/abandoned? 010
Vanek26 @vanek26.bsky.social · 30/06/2026Probably split into two groups- retail MAGA investors who were easy marks - and rich people doing these things as a bribe and not expecting their money back. 1151
