Video game themed comic #10: Get well soon @erinplays.bsky.social

Erin: So, I’m getting surgery today, so I may not be able to stream for a bit depending on how healing goes.

Vance: Don’t worry. You’ve created so much content that by the time you come back it’ll feel like you never left.

Erin: You’re right, I guess. But now I’m hungry!

Vance: Not a problem. Are you feeling more like “Remembering Lunchables” Erin or “Burger King Games” Erin?

Video game themed comic #9: It’s been a while

While playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the Nintendo Switch, Vance bumps into Flip the monkey.

Flip: Is that you, Vance?! No way! It’s been like… Whoa! 4 years and 5 months!

I swore if I ever saw you again, I’d make you do ten thousand squats… but you can do better.

Right now, I’m just pumped to see you again, rerack!

Video game themed comic #8: AI sword fighting

Vance and the bloodthirsty pirate are in the middle of a sword fight at Mêlée Island, straight from the exciting world of The Secret of Monkey Island. Just as it reaches the climax of battle, the bloodthirsty pirate exclaims a well-timed insult.

Bloodthirsty pirate: You fight like a dairy farmer!

Vance: *looks up dairy farmer on the internet* Dairy farming is a class of agriculture for the long-term production of milk, which is processed for the eventual sale of a dairy product. Dairy farming has a history that goes back to the early Neolithic era, around the seventh millennium BC, in many regions of Europe and Africa. Vance proceeds to lose the sword fight.

Video game themed comic #6: No explanations needed

*Vance is in Sakuragaoka, a small town in Yokosuka, Japan, as depicted in the Sega Dreamcast game Shenmue.*

Sumiya: Can I help you?

Vance: Apparently the hot thing to do on Bluesky right now is to share a crush you have, no explanations. Anyway, there’s this really cool arcade in Dobuita I’d like to go to. Would you like to play some darts with me sometime?

Sumiya: No, no, no. Not right now. Why not ask Mayumi-san?

It is my belief that there should be a starter pack for every single retro game reviewer on BlueSky. All of these people have different opinions, and the YouTube videos to prove it. Please check them out! go.bsky.app/SXXu2uQ
